* Amazing. At the end of 2000 I was preparing
to be divorced, buy a new home, create a new
life, and move into new directions requiring lots
of money and plenty of healing.
One book that helped me during that intense
period was "I'm Rich Beyond My Wildest Dreams"
by Thomas and Penelope Pauley. It's a fun book
one person described as "Napoleon Hill meeting
Deepak Chopra." It reveals, as the subtitle says,
"How to Get Everything You Want in Life."
It delivers, too. That book is partly why I'm now
living my dream life---country estate, luxury sports
car, best-selling books---and having a blast doing it.
But that's not why I'm telling you about it.
One day last month I received a phone call
from a man who said he found my website and
loved my material. He went on to say he had
written a book and wanted to tell me about it.
His book? You guessed it: "I'm Rich Beyond
My Wildest Dreams." It was author Tom Pauley
on the phone.
We had an exhilarating conversation. We talked
of spirituality, keys to manifestation, publishing,
business, and much more. He was REALLY
fascinated with my track record for success in
selling e-books. He bought the e-book Jim Edwards
and I wrote on how to write your own e-book (in only
7 days) and he was PSYCHED to write one of his own.
I told Tom---and I'm now reminding you---that if
you want to write an e-book in the shortest amount
of time, and learn the inside secrets for making the
most money from it in the fastest ways, then you
need to register for the next e-class Jim Edwards
and I are leading on February 14th. For full details,
see http://www.7dayebook.com/coach/
Note: You can get Tom Pauley's book "I'm Rich
Beyond My Wildest Dreams" from www.amazon.com
or from http://www.richdreams.com

* PUBLICITY TIP: Lists are still a proven way to
get you or your product into the news.
Recently a reporter from Investor's Business Daily
asked me how I (or anyone) could "beat the blahs."
Since I was feeling pretty blah when her note arrived,
I decided to lift my own spirits by generating 10 ways
to cure the blues. Here they are:
1. Take a walk. Fresh air lifts the spirits.
2. Call a friend. Positive people make a difference.
3. Watch a sit-com. Thirty minutes and you're smiling.
4. Drink juice. The natural sugar brings a quick high.
5. Find a loser. Find moments when greats failed but went on.
6. Remind yourself of time. Everything will pass, including the blahs.
7. Read jokes. A good or even dumb joke book can change you.
8. Think differently. Thoughts create perceptions, so change them.
9. Jump high. A few minutes of intense jumping will cure the blahs.
10. Read my books. They're said to be uplifting.
You may have noticed that I not only gave that reporter
what
she wanted---tips on how to beat the blahs---but I also managed
to plug my own work in the process. THAT'S the key to making
publicity work for you with a list.
And that reporter's story with my tips appeared
in Investor's
Business Daily on January 29, 2002.
I did something similar back in 1997, when my book
"CyberWriting," first came out. I circulated a "Top
10 Reasons
to Read CyberWriting" joke list around the net. Overnight people
sent the list to other people, creating an early viral marketing
campaign -- and causing that book to become an overnight
best-seller at amazon.
Note: CyberWriting is now out of print but most
of it got
reincarnated as "Hypnotic Writing." See www.hypnoticwriting.com
* PRODUCTIVITY TIP: If you're in the USA, consider
hiring
someone who lives overseas to do your online leg work. This
way when you go to bed at night, the person overseas will be
doing your work. When you wake up, they've got it done!
I first heard of this tip from coach Terri Levine.
She lives in
Pennsylvania. Her assistant lives in Australia. Terri emails
a list of to-dos to Australia. Since night-time here is day-time
down under, Terri's work gets done while she sleeps.
I LOVE this tip!

how to
use coaching techniques in your own work, consider Terri's

* Everybody talks about success, self-motivation
and self-
discipline. But there is another factor, one that most experts
reject or ignore.
That factor is luck.
Yes, LUCK.
No matter how hard you work, how faithfully you
motivate
yourself, unexpected stuff happens.
"Stuff happens," right?
For lucky people, that unexpected stuff works FOR
them.
But un-lucky people usually manage to get the dirty end of the
stick - again and again.
If you've ever felt that way, there's a new book
you should
check out. "Command More Luck" is written by Charles Burke,
a man who actually raised himself from naturally UN-lucky to
consistently receiving one lucky break after another. And he
tells exactly how you can do the same.
If the luck in your life could stand some improving,
go to
http://hop.clickbank.net/hop.cgi?outrageous/moreluck
and read what you can do about it. Do it now.
Why not get lucky right now?
* MARKETING TIP: Get your friends to help you.
When fire-breathing talk-show host Mike Litman decided
he wanted his book, "Conversations with Millionaires," to
be
an amazon.com best-seller, he asked his friends for help.
He went to people like me and said, "I'll give
$250 worth
of e-products to anyone who buys just one copy of my book.
All you have to do is inform your mailing list. Will you do it?"
Will I? Since I love his book and respect him, I
agreed.
I had nothing to gain in any monetary way. That didn't matter.
I wanted to help. So on the morning of January 18 I sent a
letter---a letter Mike drafted and I polished---to my list. You
probably got it.
Well, within a few hours Mike's book hit number
17 on
the amazon.com sales rank list!
Then it went to 15.
Then 9.
Then 3.
And then that same day it became NUMBER ONE!
He kicked John Grisham right out of the throne!
In short, Mike's book became an overnight best-seller
for one main reason: He asked his friends for help.
Of course, for Mike to sell about 1,000 books in
24 hours,
he had to give a lot of his time and energy as well as a lot of
his eproducts. He told me he received 1,700 emails -- which
he answered personally. He also slept 8 hrs in 3 days. So
don't think "asking your friends" is ALL it takes to succeed.
You still need a plan, commitment---and a good product.
Congrats, Mike! And thanks for being an inspiration
to us!
Note: While I didn't receive any money for helping
Mike,
I did receive an unexpected side-benefit: My own most
recent book, "Spiritual Marketing," began to sell briskly
at amazon as Mike's book sales soared. Why? Seems that
every time someone ordered Mike's book, amazon offered
a list of related books that the customer might like. My book
was one of them. As a result, my sales increased, too! Ah, I
love win-win-wins! (Mike's site is http://www.mikelitman.com)
