News You Can Use - March, 2000

Three steps? It only takes three steps to solve problems, create wealth,
and feel happy? Yes! On top of that, just learn to "Pay It Forward" and
you can change the world itself. Read on and you'll see what I mean...

You are receiving this because you either asked to be on The Copy Writing
Profit Center's exclusive announcements list at http://www.mrfire.com, or
you are a personal friend of mine. If you don't want to receive these
monthly messages, just send a polite note to me at remove@mrfire.com, and
I'll take your name off my list. BTW, your e-mail address will never be
sold or given to anyone by me. Finally, feel free to forward the
following to your friends. Thanks! -- Joe

* Got an idea for a new product or service? Then act on it NOW. If you
don't, someone else will. Why? Because the universe seems to supply
the same idea to more than one person at a time, in a way to guarantee
that the idea gets born. Example: I was in a book store in Austin a few
weeks ago and was shocked to see an audiotape with the title, "The
Spirituality of Marketing." Well, my forthcoming book is currently
titled "Spiritual Marketing"!! This happens all the time. Here's the
point: If you don't act on that idea bouncing around in your head,
knocking on your inner doors, begging to get out, then somebody,
somewhere WILL act on it. It's okay if they do, of course. But in
marketing, the first to bring out the idea is usually the first to own
the brand in the public's mind for that idea. In short: ACT NOW.

* Wanna change the world? Read "Pay It Forward," the first novel I've
read in many moons. It reveals the inspiring story of how the world
was transformed by a boy who began doing favors for people, and
rather than getting favors returned to him, instead asked people to
"pay it forward" (rather than "pay it back") by doing favors for other
people. Inspiring! A book that uses the network marketing principle
of enlisting people into businesses and applies it to doing good
deeds in the world. A remarkable story. The publicity campaign for
Catherine Ryan Hyde's new novel is worth study. Read about it at
http://www.iuniverse.com/daily/articles/Display.asp?article_id=440

* Three steps? It only takes three steps to solve problems, create wealth
and feel happy? I didn't believe it either, until I tried it. Not only do
the three steps work, but you can do them anywhere, anytime, for any
situation---and in about three minutes! On top of that, this method never
fails. I'm blown away. This is worth billions of dollars. What am I talking
about here? Nothing less than psychic and spiritual/business advisor
John Harricharan's new book. Go to www.powerpause.com and see!
(Note: John gives breathtaking psychic or energy readings, too. He's
featured in the book "The 100 Top Psychics in America." Contact
him at john@powerpause.com. I highly recommend him and his work.)

* A fascinating website revealing a vast collection of 5,000 ads from
1911-1955---probably the golden age of copywriting---can be seen at
http://scriptorium.lib.duke.edu/adaccess. Great stuff to study! Fun, too!

* What a find! "Method Marketing" by Denny Hatch reveals "How to
make a fortune by getting inside the heads of your customers."
Hatch, editor of 'Target Marketing' magazine, dissects winners
and losers in business to teach you the inside secrets to success.
Bottomline: Get out of your ego and into your customer's ego.
Appeal to their interests and they'll give you money. Easy, right?
Get the book! You, too, can become a marketing genius once
you know Hatch's secret. I bought it through www.amazon.com.

* Arguably the greatest book on advertising ever written, by the
greatest copywriter of all time, is "Scientific Advertising" by
Claude Hopkins. Many ad-gods say they read this book yearly.
It's worth reading at least 3 times. You can see the ENTIRE 1925
classic at http://www.2h.com/Scientific_Advertising/sciya.shtml

* Finally! Nightingale-Conant FINALLY put my audioprogram (a
best-seller for them) on their website. Go to www.nightingale.com
and search for "The Power of Outrageous Marketing!" or go direct to
http://shop.nightingale.com/index.asp?WCI=ProductDetail&ProductIDN=20320&WC
U=67211
. And if that still doesn't work, just call toll-free 1-800-525-9000.
Order it. Listen to it FREE for 30-days. Do it! You'll love it!

* CALLING ALL ONLINE PUBLISHERS! Here is one more FREE avenue

* ONE news release just got Dr. Scott Lewis featured in The Las Vegas
Review Journal newspaper, the biggest newspaper in Nevada! See the full story at
http://www.lvrj.com/lvrj_home/2000/Feb-17-Thu-2000/lifestyles/12844559.html

* How do you get in the news? According to reporter Dennis Stauffer, in
his 1994 book "MediaSmart: How to Handle A Reporter" (available
through www.amazon.com), it works like this:

"A news story is supposed to be true, but otherwise the criteria for
what makes a good story are the same as in fiction. We look for strong
characters (newsmakers), good dialogue (soundbites/quotations), and
something novel and dramatic to tell (scandall/disaster/victory). We strive
to somehow touch our audience by relating things in personal terms, and
we try to present it in a way that will attract and hold someone's
attention."

Aim high!
