* Impossible? I'm not sure ANYTHING is impossible. Wait around long enough and somebody someplace will somehow figure out a way to do anything that you now declare as impossible.

My philosophy is "There is ALWAYS a way." You may not know the way---yet. Maybe it's never been done before-- yet. But believe you me, there IS a way to do anything you can name, any goal you can describe, any problem you want to solve.

Take scorpions. When Nerissa and I moved into this Texas Hill Country home last February, we had no idea just how ugly, persistent, invasive, and dangerous scorpions really are. They are REALLY nasty buggers.

The first time I saw one here was as I was handing a towel to Nerissa. If I hadn't seen it, she may have used the towel and the scorpion to dry off. It's a chilling thought. I hired exterminators, of course. They said they guaranteed their work. They sprayed. I paid them. They left.

But the scorpions remained. I think they liked the poison. I called the exterminators back. They said they guaranteed their work, but they can't guarantee they could actually completely exterminate the scorpions. (Huh?) Still, they sprayed again. And still, the scorpions remained.

One night after we saw scorpions in the guest bathroom. Nerissa and I stayed up to the wee hours caulking cracks and filling holes. Hours later, when we dropped to the floor with a sigh to relax, we watched a scorpion walk out of the room we had just "scorpion proofed"!

These insects are walking through walls!

I asked neighbors. They said there was no way to stop scorpions. I called other exterminators. They could just spray, too. I asked clerks in hardware stores. I asked an old farmer for ways to kill or at least repel scorpions. I asked and asked and asked.

Everyone said it was IMPOSSIBLE.

Impossible?

That's the wrong thing to tell ME.

I KNEW there had to be a way to stop scorpions.

There HAD to be!

Why?

Because THERE IS ALWAYS A WAY.

I did searches on the Internet. Amazingly, all I could find were chilling pictures and terrifying descriptions and a lot of warnings. Stay away from scorpions!

Then I stumbled across a site selling natural products for the home. They claimed to have an ultrasonic device that repelled bugs.

Bugs? I've got scorpions, not bugs. So I emailed the site and specifically asked if their device worked on the uninvited guests I had. The owners of the site in turn emailed the manufacturer of the product.

The next day I was told yes, the devices should make enough invisible noise in the house to make the scorpions decide to live in a quieter neighborhood.

I bought two units. Had them Fed-Xed to me. And plugged them into the walls the moment they arrived. That was on October 3rd. It's now the new year, several months have gone by, and I have not seen one scorpion.

None!

Impossible? Don't kid yourself. Anything you can imagine, you can find a way to have.

So...What do you want for the new year? Remember, there is ALWAYS a way.

MARKETING TIP: One of my clients gets 70% of their sales from having a banner ad on unsubscribe pages. That means that if you have an ezine, you probably also have (and should have) an unsubscribe page for folks who opt out. Most ezines have boring unsubscribe pages that say something like "Thanks and see you around." My client asks if they can put a banner ad on those unsubscribe pages. As a result, 70% of their sales come from those unlikely places. If you have an unsubscribe page, put an ad on it.

If you don't have one, consider asking people who do if you can post an ad on theirs.
