TIP: Say you are searching for something at Google and turn up a dead end. Where do you go next?

Click on "More" on the top of the Google page and you'll see an icon for "Answers." Click on it. Now you can post your question and a live Google researcher will go looking for your answer.

You pay them whatever you want, from fifty cents to $200. I've used this extra service and love it. Seems like you can get answers for under a buck, but if you offer more money, you'll get a quicker response. I've had Google researchers return thesis-quality answers to one of my questions -- all for five dollars.

TIP: People trying to create "hypnotic writing" often blow it because they work with the 5 senses of the reader but forget the most important sense of all.

For example, anyone who studies my Hypnotic Selling Secrets home study course knows you need to speak to people's interests, and you need to use language that helps them see, hear, touch, taste and even smell whatever it is you are writing about.

But what about the missing sense?

In Eric Schiffer's book, "Emotionally Charged Learning," he states: "We are less equipped to experience our world from a physical standpoint (taste, touch, sight, smell, sound) than we are from a mental standpoint."

In other words, use stories and imaginings to help people awaken their own brains, because inside their brains are 10,000,000,000,000 synapses that allow new information to join with old information to create new experiences.

In essence, the more your Hypnotic Writing can engage people on an emotional level, the more they will remember and act on it.

FASCINATING: Despite the title, I was riveted to the book "The Mind and The Brain: Neuroplasticity and the Power of Mental Force" by Dr. Jeffrey Schwartz.

Schwartz is a medical doctor who discovered he could help patients with obsessive-compulsive disorders by teaching them to become aware of their own thoughts.

Using his instructions, patients could actually create new neural pathways in their brains, which he calls "Neuroplasticity." They were able to reshape their brains by doing one thing: Staying aware.

The implications are enormous. While most of the world says we can't change our chemical structure, let alone the wiring in our brains, along comes this medical doctor who *proves* otherwise. And it all stems from "mental force" -- the power to choose what you will do or think despite what your brain may be urging otherwise.

SECRETS: I love Sir Richard Branson. He's the mega- rich mega-popular business tycoon behind numerous global businesses. If you want to learn his secrets for doing business, grab a copy of "The Rebel Rules: Daring to Be Yourself in Business" by Chip Conley, with a nice foreword by Richard Branson himself.

The book isn't about Branson's secrets so much as it is about Conley's secrets. Conley is the boy wonder of the travel industry. He's famous for the same kind of outrageous thinking as Branson. INSIGHT: I didn't think anything else could be written about persuasion and influence, so you can imagine how skeptical I was when I picked up "Instant Persuasion" by Laurie Puhn, a lawyer in New York City

Boy, was I wrong.

I opened it to the chapter called "Rule 10: Beware of Uncomplimentary Compliments." These are compliments that most of us say without thinking. For example, "Your face looks thin with that new hairdo" isn't a compliment.

It's an insult. It's saying, "You have a fat face."

Another of Laurie's rules is "Rule 24: Create Comfort in a Difficult Time." This one struck home for me. It's about the need to say something comforting to a friend in their time of pain or sorrow. When Marian died last October, I heard from hundreds of people, but I never heard from some close friends of mine. That hurt.

As Laurie points out, saying nothing sends the unintended message, "I don't care about you."

There are 35 eye-opening rules in this engaging, highly readable, enjoyable, and educational book. It's made me more aware of how I (and others) communicate.

SPIRITUAL: What's so spiritual about business?

I was wandering through a bookstore in Austin, Texas last month when a book with the title, "Spiritual Business" seemed to leap off the shelf.

I grabbed it. Bought it. Love it.

It's the riveting true story of how Michael Peter Langevin started the magazine, "Magical Blend", over 25 years ago. He began with no experience, no money, a distaste for business, and an inner desire to help the world.

Along the way this anti-establishment, anti-capitalist learns that money and spirit go hand in hand. His story is enlightening, inspiring, and unforgettable. It helps show that spirit is everywhere -- even in business.

INSPIRING: I love people who do what others consider impossible. David Bornstein wrote about some of them in his book, "How to Change the World." It's about social entrepreneurs: People who use their ideas to make a difference in the world.

I'm talking about people such as Veronica Khosa, a woman in South Africa who created a home- based care program for AIDS patients that changed health care policy in that country.

I'm talking about Fabio Rosa, a man in Brazil who brings electricity to hundreds of thousands of remote rural residents.

And I'm talking about James Grant, who saved 25,000,000 lives by using marketing to get global immunization.

The list goes on. These are people with "impossible dreams" -- to make a difference in the world -- who are actually doing it in clever and creative ways.
