SOLD: The final 1,000 pixels of the Million Dollar Homepage sold for $38,100 in an eBay auction (winner: Elijah Kliger of Brooklyn, NY, director of business development at Netnutri.com, for the new website www.MillionDollarWeightloss.com), netting 21-year-old UK college student Tew $1,037,100.00 in total ad sales. Lesson: When you get an idea, act on it.

LESSON: P.T. Barnum, the great circus promoter and legendary marketeer, is alive and well.

According to a new biography of Michael Jackson, the great showman is the cause of the singer becoming a star.

By Margo Jefferson's account in her book, "On Michael Jackson," Jackson discovered Barnum's autobiography, read it fervently and repeatedly, and gave copies to his staff with the remark, "I want my career to be the greatest show on Earth."

Soon afterward he started making news regularly, not for musical achievement but for doing such things as sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber, wearing a surgical mask in public, spending millions to turn his home into an amusement park, and -- well, we all know the rest, don't we?

LESSON: Thanks to my dear friend Mark Ryan, and with help from my webmaster, Charles Lewis, I now have my own podcast. I just put up my first blog last November. Barely a few months later and I now have my own online audio show, or podcast. This is on iTunes and will be on Sirius radio, too.

It also became #1 in only 36 hours.

Now understand something—My podcast became #1 because of marketing. Nothing else. I barely knew what a podcast was until Mark Ryan told me about it. And I still wouldn't have one if he and Charles Lewis didn't create it for me.

But the reason the podcast got attention is from my marketing. Within 36 hours my podcast -- which only had one audio on it -- became #1. Over 600 people voted for it.

Right after it hit #1, others with podcasts, who know nothing about marketing, started a smear campaign against me. What's ironic is that they were marketing their hate for me, but not their love for their own podcast.

The big lesson here is that marketing rules the earth.

I heard that author Stephen King is using cell phones (which he hates) to market his next novel, called "Cell."

You might think King doesn't need marketing. Think again. We all do. Trump. Branson. King. You. Me.

INSPIRING: Actress Jessica Biel, star of the TV show "Seventh Heaven," loves my book, "The Attractor Factor."
