The Rubicon Challenge

History tells us that in 49 B.C., Julius Caesar and his troops broke the Roman Law forbidding any general to cross the Rubicon River. It left no one in the Roman Republic with any question as to Caesar’s intention.

He had a goal.

He had a mission.

There was no turning back now.

Caesar said, “The die is cast, the game is on.”

At some point it’s wise to accept or create a “Rubicon Challenge” for yourself. It’s a way to stretch your talents, exceed your potential, dare something worthy, and achieve what others might call impossible. The line or “river” you cross is the self-imposed limitation of your own potential.

I just did that by declaring I will sing, play guitar, write songs, and record my own audio CD in 2011.

I’ve already been taking guitar lessons with Guitar Monk Mathew Dixon. And I’ve been taking singing lessons with vocal wizard Guy Monroe. I’ve seen progress and I’m having a blast.

But it’s time to go to the next level.

It’s time to cross the river of limitation.

And here’s where my own Rubicon Challenge appeared.

Back in 2006 I held a publicity stunt in Austin, Texas called The Canine Concert. It was the first ever concert for dogs, played at a sound level only canines could hear. The band that donated their time and talents was Porter Davis. It was a hot summer day but people turned out, including the media, and we all had fun. This youtube video gives you a feel for the event:

That was years ago. I hadn’t seen or heard from the band since. Recently the lead singer, Daniel Barrett, emailed me and asked to have lunch. Of course, I agreed.

dan barrett

Over Tex-Mex food and sharing, Dan (pictured with me above) told me about his new service. He offers 100 hours of personal coaching in singing, songwriting and guitar playing, ending in the studio recording five songs.  He called it a boot camp for musicians. While he wasn’t trying to sell me (as he had no idea I was already taking singing and guitar playing lessons), I began to feel that our meeting was more than a coincidence.

After lunch, I couldn’t stop thinking of Dan’s service, which he called Rubicon Artist Development. We met again a week later, shared several emails, and discussed my taking on his challenge.

I wanted to.

But I admit I was full of massive doubt.

Could I do this?

Could I write songs?

Could I play and sing well enough to be recorded?

Could I find the time to practice as well as keep up my lessons with Mathew and Guy?

I spent a lot of time thinking, dreaming, worrying and more. I’m surrounded by great musicians in my personal life, from Sarah Marie and Michelle Malone to Pat O’Bryan and of course Mathew Dixon. (Mathew and Michelle pictured below.)

michelle malone mathew dixon

But knowing they can play great music didn’t make my decision any either.

I was still nervous about taking the challenge.

Until I realized that if I had this much excitement as well as apprehension, then I had to do the challenge.

As I wrote in my book The Attractor Factor, my rule of thumb is to follow goals that scare you a little and excite you a lot. If I’m giving that advice to others, then I need to take it myself.

I accepted Dan’s Rubicon Challenge.

Why am I telling you all this?

Because in 2011 I’m going to announce a movie project and a challenge for you revolving around Miracles Coaching. You’ll hear about it and it will interest you. But most likely you’ll have questions, concerns, fears and doubts.

Accept them, investigate them, and release them.

You grow stronger and wiser when you accept the challenge you know you want.

I’ve accepted another one.

What will yours be?

Ao Akua,

Joe

The Abundance Manifesto: Secret #5

Secret #5 reveals the only choice you have to make. It’s below.

As you may recall, over the next few weeks I’m posting ten principles of abundance. I’m calling them The Abundance Manifesto. This is to help pave the way for my new audio program, The Abundance Paradigm: Moving from the Law of Attraction to the Law of Creation (coming out any day now).

These are my observations about how you can attract personal and planetary wealth. Wealth, of course, is more than money, so these ideas are more sweeping than you may at first realize.

Since I’m just sculpting these thoughts, please be forgiving in reviewing them. In fact, what I’d love is your opinion. Please comment on each to help me refine them all. The end result will be a useful set of insights for you, me, and everyone else.

Here’s the fifth one:

Thou shall choose the higher ground in every decision.

The ego resists love and forgiveness. It is an illusion self-created and self-maintained. It causes broken homes and broken dreams. In every decision, there is a choice: Come from love or come from ego. Most come from the latter. The higher ground is to choose love. When the choice exists, ask, “What is the more loving decision here?” Choose love.

The Abundance Manifesto: Secret #4

Here’s Secret #4 for you, below:

As I mentioned previously, over the next few weeks I’m posting ten principles of abundance. I’m calling them The Abundance Manifesto. This is to help pave the way for my new audio program, The Abundance Paradigm: Moving from the Law of Attraction to the Law of Creation (coming out later this month).

Here’s the fourth one:

Thou shall keep a clear mind

Clarity of mind leads to pure abundance. Beliefs about “not enough” of anything is from scarcity, not abundance. Beliefs that “money is bad” or “there isn’t enough for all” trigger self-sabotage actions and self-fulfilling prophecies . A clear mind is achieved through these ten principles, as well as by de-programming your mind from the history of conflict and shortage. A clear mind is no longer a victim but a co-creator; no longer reactionary but now responsive; no longer lost but clear.

PS – Be sure to get clear with your free sample of Miracles Coaching by clicking right here.

Note: My new audio program is almost ready for you. It’s called The Abundance Paradigm: Moving from the Law of Attraction to the Law of Creation. You’ll love it. Stay tuned.

Attracting Cars: Abundance or Scarcity?

The other day someone twittered a note to me asking —

“Why do you need 7 cars? Why not sell one and give the money to a homeless shelter?”

I found the question revealing.

The person asking the question assumes it’s an either-or world; either you buy the car or you give the money for it away to some good cause.

Sounds logical, doesn’t it?

Within that kind of thinking, it is logical.

But that’s scarcity thinking.

That’s thinking there isn’t enough.

Is that actual reality?

Abundance thinking, on the other hand, would say that you can do both; you can buy the car and you can donate money to the homeless.

But most people don’t see this.

They don’t see it because they’re stuck in their paradigm (or mindset) and don’t know it.

They’re seeing the world through their mental “box of beliefs.”

This isn’t their fault.

That’s how they were programmed.

I totally understand it.

I was once broke, struggling, desperate, and unhappy.

In those days I would have thought the same thing: there isn’t enough to go around.

But was that actually true?

Was that reality?

It was real and true only to the extent that I lived from the mindset that believed it.

According to the “box of beliefs” in my head at that time in my life, the world looked bleak.

But I’ve transcended that thinking.

Today I live from The Abundance Paradigm.

In other words, today I know I can have the cars *and* I can contribute just as much money or more to causes I believe in.

I’m living this. I’ve given money to friends to help them with the IRS or a struggling business; I’ve given money to causes and people I believe in, including complete strangers; I’ve donated to homeless shelters and to a group to end poverty; I’ve bought cars for family members; I’ve even funded a bold movement to end homelessness.

And I buy a car for myself when I feel inspired to do so.

How is this possible?

What’s the difference?

My thinking.

Yes, I have more money now, too, but that’s also a result of leaving scarcity thinking and moving into abundance thinking.

But I didn’t get to this new paradigm overnight.

It took decades of reading, thinking, trying, and more.

It wasn’t until I got a coach that I began to have the faster breakthroughs. From there, life became one of magic and miracles.

Which is why I created Joe Vitale’s Miracles Coaching ®.

I don’t want you to spend decades spinning your wheels; I want you to have results ASAP.

The Abundance Network

I was interviewed about my new audio program (The Abundance Paradigm) while in Chicago recording it. The host asked, “Joe, with the economy in the tank and sinking, what are we to do?”

“How do you know it’s sinking?” I asked. “Where did you hear about it?”

He seemed surprised by my questions. But I didn’t give him a chance to reply. I went on saying —

“The only reason you think it’s terrible out there is because you are being programmed to think so by the mainstream media.”

The host stared at me as I went on my soapbox and continued —

“The media is trained to find bad news and broadcast it to you. The more they do it and you believe it, the worst the world looks. It then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. You live from the new paradigm of scarcity and the media, doing its job, broadcasts it. You don’t even see it happening. It feels real. You take it as reality.”

At that point I could have told the true story of how ABC News came to my home – twice – and interviewed me for hours. They even filmed an entire evening with me and celebrity fitness model Jennifer Nicole Lee during one of my Rolls-Royce Phantom Masterminds.

Six months later all that footage was edited down to barely three minutes of highly distorted “news.” The same news station that broadcast a slimy angle about my work also broadcast commercials for drugs with known side effects, such as death.

That’s mainstream news.

You might call it the Scarcity Network.

The Scarcity Network typically airs facts in negative terms and slants. For example, a reader sent me the following —

“Joe, just a further example for you of negative news.  The US originally thought that we lost 131,000 jobs in July, it is actually 77K jobs better and it is still packaged as bad news.  Then, some people feel that their job prospects are better so they decide to enter the labor force and we show an uptick in unemployment. Wouldn’t a headline of:  “US retains 77,000 more jobs than originally thought while more workers choose to enter the labor force” be a better headline?”

Yes, it would be a better headline. But the Scarcity Network won’t broadcast that. It’s not the programming they want you to have in your head. They need you to live in fear. They need you controlled. They’re not doing this out of any intentional conspiracy, but because they were programmed, too. This is their paradigm.

But I didn’t relate either of the above to my interviewer. Instead, I turned direction and said —

“But what if there was a different channel to watch or listen to? What if there was an Abundance Network and all it broadcast were inspiring stories of people succeeding, accomplishing, attracting and achieving? What if they spun everything in a good way?”

I continued with —

“We all know that there are people doing well in the world right now. If this alternative media broadcast their positive news, and that’s all you watched, you would soon be programmed to see the world as an abundant place. You would then create a self-fulfilling prophecy of abundance. You would then see abundance. You would then see opportunities. You would live in a world of miracles. That would then feel real.”

At that point I could have related the true story of the man who gave out credit cards to a handful of homeless people as a test to see what they would do with them. In every case, the homeless person used the card as they said they would, didn’t misuse it to buy drugs or alcohol, and even returned the card when done.

The Abundance Network would report this story to show the hope and responsibility in the destitute; the Scarcity Network would run a similar test but air what didn’t work, even if they had to make it up, or they would complain that the cards had low limits, etc.  They would find a weakness in an otherwise inspiring story. But they would focus on the weakness not to correct it but to communicate the unspoken programming, “See, told you homeless people were unreliable and its hopeless to try to help them!”

Back to my interview.

My host barely had time to stutter before I kept going with —

“Look. Both types of world exist right now — the lousy economy one as well as the abundant economy one. I’m not denying that. But it’s like an optical illusion. Depending on how you look, the image is either an old woman, or a young woman. Reality itself is neutral. The question is, which view are you going to let program you? Which do you want to live in?”

old woman illusion

I’m not aware of an Abundance Network yet. But until something like it exists — or until my new audio program comes out in late October or The Dr. Joe Vitale Show starts airing on CBS radio — what are you to do?

Here’s my suggestion —

Reprogram your mind.

Take charge of it.

Feed it the positive and you’ll see and then attract the positive.

You’ll “tune in” to the Abundance Network in your own mind. You’ll have a paradigm shift (a shift of your view of the world) and you’ll see abundance where you didn’t before. It’s basic Law of Attraction at work: you attract what you expect and believe. Just change the channel in your mind.

And then you can thumb your nose at the doomsayers out there.

You can become immune to them.

You can see reality as the grand optical illusion and choose which view of it best suits you.

How can you do this?

Go see — http://milagromanifestationmethod.com

It’s the single best thing you can do for yourself — short of Miracles Coaching — at this time in history.

It’ll tell you the true story of a broke man who found the secret to fulfilling virtually any desire you may have.

And it’ll tell you how to easily program your mind with the positive while you do something even easier than watching TV.

Go to — http://milagromanifestationmethod.com

And check out Miracles Coaching right here.

What station will you choose — the Scarcity Network or the Abundance Network?

It’s your move.

And your mind.

Choose wisely.
