I went to The Opus Premiere in calgary last night and was one fo the first people to see the movie. It was excellent! It was very different than the Secret. So when you go, don’t expect that. But the movie was so much deeper and practical. It really left me feeling like I could accomplish my goals. I think it is a much better movie. Make sure you check it out you won’t be disappointed!

I had the pleasure last night to be at the world premiere showing of The Opus. The movie is just awesome. There is no other way to describe it. And just like everyone else is saying it has so much more to it than the Secret. I also left feeling as though I now had practical steps to achieve my dreams and totally inspired to leave my own legacy. The story and the music were so powerful. And the speakers were powerful. Joe was great as usual. I now want to “DO SOMETHING WORTHY!” Thanks Joe. This is an awesome Movie. SEE IT! SEE It! SEE IT! SEE IT!

The Opus Rocks! I loved it. It was a really good movie with tons of useful information. It is worth watching again and again and again. it was good to see so many people from The secret return – and with so much more depth. I think that Douglas Vermeeren did a fantastic job putting this film together and also making the journey origianl and fresh. it is not the secret part 2 it is THE OPUS!!!!!! Go see it you will love it!

I went to the screening of the Opus last night in Edmonton. This was a great experience. The film is so much more than the secret. It was deeper and more practical on every level. The film was just awesome. I bought a copy and have already watched it again this morning. I am so excited. This film has the tools to take anyone to their goals easily and more surely.

The event was awesome too. Scott Duncan the violinist from the film played and several speakers spoke. They were all so great. I especially thought Douglas Vermeeren was extremely powerful. He is an amazing individual. And he has created an amazing film.

    I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS FILM.

If you are interested in personal development in any way. SEE IT!

I went to the premiere of The Opus in Edmonton. It was a great movie. The place was packed. It was crazy. But the energy was good. The film is so much more than a sequel to the secret. The secret was great. But it left a lot missing. This film actually gave me steps I could do and things to think about TODAY. it was not a new agey conversation about energy. It was powerful realistic invitation to action. And not just action – the right kind of actions to take. I highly recommend it as the best personal development movie ever made. The other thing I liked about it was that those teachers from the secret that made it into this movie actually got share some depth. I almost got the feeling that what they said in the secret was only part of their stories. This film is so much better.

I didn’t get to the speaking part of the event. it happened earlier in the day – but after having seen the film and talking with a few people I wish I would have. It sounded really good too. So if the Opus is comign to your town. I would encourage you to make sure you go. You won’t be disappointed and you will walk away 1000 times more powerful than when you walked in.

As a side note I met Douglas Vermeeren and his wife Holly after the event. They are the kindest people you could imagine. And they are so classy and full of grace to everyone. I know they must have had a long couple of days with all the screenings lately, but they were so kind and interested in everyone that they met. I watched from a distance in awe. The guy is really living the Opus and you can see what a difference it is making for him. If you get the chance to meet him you’ll see what I mean. Totally awesome guy.

I went to the premiere in Edmonton and Calgary. And it was even better in Edmonton. There were too many people in Calgary and it felt a little bit like a frenzy. In Edmonton there were still alot of people but not as many. I got a chance to meet Douglas Vermeeren, but in Calgary we couldn’t even get close to him. There was a spekaing event in the afternoon in Edmonton too. It was great. Luan mitchell spoke and I bought her book, one of the other speakers from The Opus and I can’t remember his name. And then Doug Vermeeren spoke. He was awesome. I’d never heard him speak before, I was totally impressed. The Opus is a show you will not want to miss.

Now for the question everyone is asking… How does it compare to the Secret? The Opus far surpasses the Secret in everyway. The information is better, the story is better, the music is better, the feeling of inspiration is better. It is just an all around better movie. The secret was great for what they were trying to do, but this movie actually teaches you something useful. Go see it.

Great film. I enjoyed it alot. I thought Joe was better in the Opus than the secret. The secret didn’t really share as much from any of the teachers. To me, the Opus was a better view of who they were and what they had to teach. Much stronger. Keep up the good work. Great film!

The Opus is by far the best presonal development movie ever. For the first time we have a film that delivers instead of just playing around with abstract ideas and non sense concepts. The Opus is practical, informative, entertaining, powerful and effective. I am definitely a fan and await with eagerness to watch what Mr. Vermeeren will be doing next. He has defintiely raised the bar on what is expected in films of this kind.

    PRESS RELEASE by Stan Romero
    THE OPUS
It’s not a secret anymore… The Next step has arrived.
From Vision To Plan To Performance.
The new motivational self help film has had its debut and the results are in. The Opus screened to sold out audiences in Canada and rave reviews. The two screenings in both Calgary and Edmonton had over 1500 and 1000 people in attendance respectively. Since those screenings internet blogs have been a buzz with thoughts from attendees like “This is the greatest personal development film ever.” “More practical tools than any other movie,” and “This film actually gave me the stuff needed to change my life.” (Google “The Opus Movie” and you’ll get a taste of what I mean.)
Producer, director and motivational speaker Douglas Vermeeren is pleased. But feels the project isn’t yet where we would like to see the finished product. “There are still a few things I would like to tighten up and tweak before we get to Chicago on May 1.” May 1st, 2008 is slated to be the official US premiere of the film, although the film will be screening for another sold out audience in Las Vegas later this month. “May 1st is a special day for us as it will be the first time we can share the film with the US public. And many of our cast, crew and speakers will be present for Chicago.”
Critics and laymen alike agree that this film is definitely the practical answer that everyone has been looking for since the 2006 release of the new age advice film The Secret. An internet Blogger who identified himself as “Jacob L.” said it this way: “ The Opus is by far the best personal development movie ever. For the first time we have a film that delivers instead of just playing around with abstract ideas and non sense concepts. The Opus is practical, informative, entertaining, powerful and effective.”
    And I wholeheartedly agree.

The Opus was great. I am really excited to see what will happen for this film over the next while. There are many that I spoke with who are involved in the film industry and they are quite excited about it. I have heard more than one person suggest that this film will win several awards because of the dynamic and powerful story, the professional look of the film and more. I am a filmmaker myself and agree. it was very well done.

I just recently saw the Secret and although I liked it, I would have to say that from a technical point of view and as a viewer The Opus is a stronger movie. And here’s a reasons why:

The Opus had a brilliant narrative running through out. It got the audience engaged and the narrative also instructed and was relevant to the lessons taught.

The Opus has a progression of concepts, while the Secret shared the same information again and again only with different episodes inside the film. (Many of which did not relate to me at all – ie. A gay commedian, a girl on a beach looking for love, or a guy in his house looking at post cards of elephants.) The Opus is audience sensitive.

The Opus also provided practical, measurable information for the viewer. The Secret spoke about a mysterious law that really is more feeling than anything.

The Opus had appropriate visuals through out, The Secret I felt robbed the vault of stock photography available on the internet to anyone.

The Musical score of the Opus also told the story. It felt custom built, while the Secret felt like it also came from a pre-recorded library.

The Opus did not discount the faith of it’s viewers. Many different thoughts were expressed yet none were discounted. I have read for a long time this battle the Secret created with christians and others. As I watched the film I could really see how the New Age thoughts of The Secret overshadowed their message.

Feel free to share your thoughts, I love to discuss these kinds of things….

I just got this from another site. I wonder what the changes are. I loved the film how it was. I am very excited to see what this all means:

“Thank you so much to everyone for the wonderful support with The Opus. we are very excited with how ell the Opus is being recieved. We are also so excited to be meeting with so many wonderful people around the world. You are all so kind and enthusiastic. we really feel a great connection with you and wish you the best successes to come.

A few items of news for you. As you may or may not know the first few screeings of the film was to gauge audience reaction and get some feedback. This is done with every major hollywood movie. They call it “test screening.” For us this was partly what we were looking to do in Calgary. And although the film was well recieved there were several things that I wanted to tighten and add more impact with. As a result I have actually shaved 13 minutes and a few elements from the film. And now we are 100% finished. What that also means is that the OPus is ready to appear for sale allowing everyone to see it now matter where you are. This will occur in the next week or so. We regret that there will be limited supply initally but hopefully our duplicators will be able to keep up with anticiapted demand.

The “extended” cut of The Opus, which we are reading the kind reviews about will be available in various locations as a pay-per-view opportunity only. There were a limited quantity of these dvds made available from this show but they are pretty much all gone now.

We are excited to be heading to Las Vegas this weekend where we will be screening the new cut for the very first time. We will be there with many of the speakers and the next day Jack Canfield will be delivering one of his exciting keynotes.

Before I run I also wanted to let you know that some of thenews shows featuring the Opus have been added to Youtube. Please check them out, share commetns and forward them to everybody you know. Here’s one of them:

    and here’s the other:

This one also features my son, but the interview has been shorten. He did a great job but was really nervous. I was pretty proud of him.

Thank you again to everyone for your support and helping to create this amazing project. I am excited and proud of what we have been able to accomplish thus far.

    Thanks everybody,

It was far better than “The Secret” It was probably the best movie to come out so far. it was also tons better than “what the bleep do we know?” and far surpassed “the Moses code” which I saw last week at another event. This is really the movie to beat. The bar is now high. You actually have to create an interesting film and one that delivers valuable information. The Opus is the first to do it. I will be promoting through all of my businesses and associates. See it – it is a great film.

I just saw the Opus. I liked The Secret better. but I did like The Opus too. You did a great job and I appreciated the wisdom of all the other speakers. I had never heard of this film or Douglas Vermeeren but I’m glad I found it.
