Movies That Change You

I love movies.

But not just any movies.

They need to be ones that inspire me, entertain me, even change me.

I long to find movies that are riveting to watch, yet also work on me on the inside, causing positive changes in my life.

The movie Back to the Future was one such movie.

I remember watching it and realizing that what I do right now will cause a ripple in time and influence the future me, as well as all the people I’ll touch in the future.

That movie made me realize that I need to be fully aware of my actions right NOW, as it’s those very actions that will create my future.

Movies that change you are being made all the time.

The other night we saw the movie Once.

It’s about an Irish guitar singer-songwriter who meets a woman who awakens his dream to create a demo of his music.

The original songs in the movie made me feel the passion for life and living we all need to express every day.

There are numerous movies that have inspiring messages. They include such greats as SeaBiscuit, It’s A Wonderful Life, Quiz Show, The Man Who Would Be King, The Natural, and so many more.

Why am I writing to you today talking about movies that change you?

Because I’m inviting you to make a new decision today.

A decision about watching what you do today — to be aware of your choices and even more aware of your decisions — and to live each moment with passion and purpose.

When you and I both come from that place of core strength and spirit, we create a world that works.

So I’m asking you to —

Consider the moment.

Consider your choices.

And come from power and passion.

That’s it.

Ao Akua,

Joe

PS — Speaking of movies…This new one may be the best of all.  Beyond Belief reveals how you are attracting everything  you have — by explaining the *hidden factor*  operating in your life. PPS – Yes, I’m in the movie. But don’t let that stop you from watching it.  🙂

    Not that I’m a huge Harry Potter fan….my children were though and I sat through the movies with them and discussed them at length for days after each viewing….but one line in all of them has always stood out in my mind…Prof. Albus Dumbledore’s wise quote;

    “It’s our choices, Harry, that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities.”

    Joe;
    Did you ever see Instinct (1999) with Anthony Hopkins and Cuba Gooding Jr.? Man what a movie… I think it’s one you would identify with… (won’t say what, who, or what part!!!)

    …sorry… forgot to add my favorite quote from Instinct, from Anthony Hopkins’ character, Ethen Powell: “You were right, freedom is not just a dream, it’s there, beyond those fences that we build all by ourselves. “

    Thanks for sharing. Nice to know my fave LOA guru loves some of my fave movies, too. I would definitely watch those you’ve mentioned that I haven’t watched.

    One movie that really changed our family was “The Secret”. It started our journey to a better US! And of course, it led us to you!

    Mine is Field of Dreams. “If you build it, he will come” Might as well be saying, if you have faith, everything will work out. The character had faith in the seemingly impossible…when everyone else thought he was crazy. He had faith. And it paid off, Big Time!

    I agree that the Harry Potter movies have many inspiring and challenging messages. They help us think outside the box, to expect the unexpected and be OK with what turns up. For many they present a challenge to preconceived beliefs. But the movies don’t ask you to change beliefs or nor do they impose new teachings. They offer an opportunity to expand one’s thinking and enjoy new ideas, all without having to make any judgment at all. Good fun.

    Here’s a movie, that many have not seen nor heard of, but has a VERY strong and profound impact on people that do see it:
    Mitch Albom’s: “The Five People You Meet In Heaven” with Jon Voight, Ellen Burstyn, Jeff Daniels, Dagmara Dominczyk, Michael Imperioli.

    Come to think of it, perhaps Mr Albom is a student of ho’oponopono!

    Actually a lot of movies have useful messages if you’re looking for them. Even the ones that a lot of people consider silly. Legally blond (1 and 2) is one of my fave because it teaches to always have faith in yourself and (what is really rare) it says that having a lot of money is good)))

    Kind regards,
