Hybrid cars are coming out of the floors and ceilings these days. While I’m still excited (and still waiting) for the Scorpion, that incredible hydrogen-gas super exotic car being made for me, I’m also keeping my eyes open for other green auto innovations. When Porsche announced its 918 Spyder, a battery-gas hybrid futuristic super car, the entire car world sat up and took notice, including me.

The thing is, the car might be an illusion.

porsche-918-spyder

After the Porsche 918 hit the cover of many magazines, including Automotive, I went looking for it. According to one article, if Porsche got 1,000 firm orders for the car, they’d make it.

That surprised me.

Wasn’t the car already made?

Wasn’t a thousand orders thinking small (for Porsche)?

Anyway, I wanted to be one of those buyers. I went online and searched. I couldn’t find a single site where I could place my order. Weird.

I called a Porsche rep in Houston I met recently. He had no idea how to order the car and barely knew as much as I did about it.

I contacted Porsche in Austin. An upbeat salesperson there called me back. He had seen me on the cover of Austin Fit magazine and remembered me and the Scorpion (below). But he was in the dark about the Porsche 918.

joe_scorpion smaller

Meanwhile, I went online to the Porsche corporate site and sent emails to every manager I could find.

No one wrote me back.

Then a friend forwarded an article to me about Porsche now having 900 orders for their new car. I was frustrated.

How are those 900 people placing their orders?

I decided to write the reporter who wrote the article. He instantly wrote me back, giving me two key contacts within Porsche HQ’s itself.

I wrote both of them.

I gave each my office phone, private mobile phone, and my email address.

So far, neither has written back.

What am I to make of this?

Maybe Porsche is just photo-shopping a car into existence to drum up publicity for their other hybrids coming out in a few months.

Maybe Porsche is like so many big corporations, just not communicating with all their other departments.

Maybe I’m not supposed to have the Porsche 918 hybrid.

I have to admit that from a Law of Attraction standpoint, the latter explanation seems to make more sense.

But why?

Let’s dig into this a bit…

I’ve said many times that the meaning you give an event is the belief that attracted it.

If I declare that the new Porsche isn’t for me, then that’s the belief that attracted this scenario. It has nothing to do with Porsche. It has everything to do with me.

Again, as I’ve said and written many times, and recorded in such audio programs as The Secret to Attracting Money, the meaning you give an event is the belief that attracted it.

secret to money

What was the meaning I gave this event?

What did it mean that I was/am having trouble placing an order for the Porsche 918?

I had to really think about this. The answer wasn’t instantly there. But after a little reflection, there it was.

Truth is, I’m still excited and eager to finally receive the Scorpion. While the wait has been seemingly forever — they’ve been telling me “thirty days” for years now — the car is worth the wait.

I’ll have the second one they make. It’ll be an honor, a collectible, and a historic moment – on the level of owning one of the few Tucker cars in existence.

In short, the Law of Attraction is always working – just not on the conscious level you may have thought.

You have to remember that what looks like failure could be a message – a message from the Divine/unconscious – about what you really want, about what you really believe, and/or about what the Universe wants for you.

This all boils down to trust.

While I could muscle my way into ordering the Porsche 918 – by maybe flying to Porsche company headquarters and handing them my order – it’s clear I’m getting a different signal.

All these bumps and blocks aren’t there by accident. They aren’t saying Law of Attraction doesn’t work. Instead, it’s working just fine.

Don’t blame gravity when you trip and fall. It’s working. You weren’t watching where you were going.

Don’t blame Law of Attraction when you don’t get what you want. It’s working, too. You’re simply getting what you unconsciously want.

As always, the whole idea here is to awaken.

Awaken to our inner power, our inner Divinity, and maybe our inner race car.

Ao Akua,

Joe

PS – While writing this very blog post, my server went off line and lost my writing, which wasn’t completed with the ending insight above, but was still important. It gave me pause. I wondered why it seemed like I couldn’t even write about not attracting the Porsche 918. Then I realized, again, that I really want the Scorpion. Once I got the lesson, I no longer needed the experience. The blog returned. The Porsche 918 remains a ghost. The Scorpion will appear when it appears (or something better will). All is well. Life continues. And I have plenty of other cars to drive anyway. So there.

Thanks Joe! I realized why I always get empty hands. Desire is something that can really make you “loose” the true wish. That´s why I was confuse. Life give uss a lot of choices, things that we look and say “no”, just t know what we want.

But there is a lot of cool things there isn´t? In particular I´m lost. I don´t know if I want a VolksWagen CrossFox or a Mazda RX-8 or a VW Golf. But now I want to know.

I was lost about job too. I didn´t know if I wanted to be a Movie director or a Scriptwriter. Life gave me a lesson that became a revelation to me.
I know deep inside of me that want to work just like you do.
I really don´t know how, but the path is right ahead. i´m walking. I´m going wherever it takes.

Thank you very much for inspiring me Joe. Thaks for the Key.

    Love you very much!
    Hugs from Brazil!

That is crazy! How do they expect to sell 1,000 if nobody can order it, maybe they have no idea how to make it, and are using the law of attraction to try and figure it out.

    Hi Joe,

Quite a while ago now I subscribed for your free book `Attract Money Now`. Unfortunately it didn`t download, so I tried again but a message comes up saying that I`ve already downloaded it. I have kept trying but last week thought maybe the book isn`t for me.
I also realised I was cross at not being able to contact you and also recieving those dreadful auto replies. You just didn`t seem available to your customers just as the book is not available to me because your computer thinks I`ve got it.
There is a lesson here for me somewhere. It`s rather strange because when I receive auto replies I immediately unsubscribe as I don`t think the seller values me and my custom and I don`t like being treated that way. But I haven`t done it with you, Why have I made an exception of you!!!!!!
One lesson I think is valuable for me here is that `realisations` are more valuable than `acquisitions.` I`d still like the book though.

    All tghe best, Jane

Jane, just contact my office. Phone, fax and emails are right on my site and in my autoresponder. Also there’s an email for me right on my blog. Or just write [email protected]
      Enjoy the book

When I was reading this post, a thought kept coming to my mind: maybe the Universe wants you to stop buying cars? Maybe the Universe wants you to direct your focus on something completely else? Maybe you will keep on bumping into stumbling blocks if you continue hunting cars.. and maybe you won’t. I cannot know, but that’s a thought that struck me.

I’ve been experiencing the same thing when looking for a home in another city lately. And just when I was ready to give up my preferences and willing to accept to buy an apartment with a lower standard, my boyfriend’s mom offered us a bigger amount of money (well, quite a BIG amount of money) so that we can buy a proper apartment.

Sometimes when you things aren’t working and you are not attracting what you really want and are ready to try other ways to get where you are heading to, miracles take place. And then you bless those stumbling blocks for being there…

    Thank you Joe!!!!!!!

    Hugs!

Andi, interesting that you would think that. I wonder how many cars you think I’m attracting and what the limit should be? At any rate, right after I posted the article, Porsche called me – not about the 918, but about another electric car. Of course, I’ll go look at it. Looks like the Universe doesn’t mind cars. After all, the “universe” is you-niverse.

What an eye opener for me this morning. I’ve been hitting major roadblocks on the new career path that I’m going after, and your article made me realize that I may be trying to “force” something to happen that I really don’t want.
I need to rethink this and get clear on it.

Oh, and when I opened my mail this morning, the email that followed yours was an ad for Porsche.
    Coincidence?
    I highly doubt it.
I think I need to do some car shopping today. 🙂

    Hey Joe…everyone,

Joe, I am sure you may have answered this in a previous blog posts, but for the benefit of the readers I will ask this anyway.

One thing that has always caused me some confusion about the Law of Attraction is this:

When do know that “stumbling blocks” are a message from our Creator to change direction or that we are after something that we dont need or want……and when do we just use persistence until we get something.

Some LOA teachers seem to say that if there are stumbling blocks in front us it could be because we are wanting the wrong thing.

But where does “persistence” come into all of this…

    Consider this:

    – English novelist John Creasey got 753 rejection slips before he published 564 books.

    – Henry Ford failed and went broke five times before he finally succeeded.

    – Richard Hooker worked for seven years on his humorous war novel, M*A*S*H , only to have it rejected by 21 publishers before Marrow decided to publish it. It became a runaway bestseller, spawning a blockbuster movie and a highly successful television series.

    – Eighteen publishers turned down Richard Bach’s 10,000-word story about a soaring seagull, Jonathan Livingston Seagull before MacMillan finally published it in 1970. By 1975 it had sold more than seven million copies in the U.S. alone.

    – Almost no one at 3M believed that the Post-It notes had a future, but Art Fry kept handing them out to people until they gave the product a chance. Even after the first marketing attempt failed, Art did not give up on the idea. He persisted until the idea became a colossal success.

So…when do know that stumbling blocks in our way means to change plans or goals…and when do we know to keep persisting in spite of those stumbling blocks to get what we want.

Any feedback and points of view will be welcome.

What a great question! Truth is, the answer is an internal one. You have to follow your own connection to the Divine and do what feels best. My rule of thumb is if it’s repeatedly painful to persist, then I’m knocking on the wrong door. Either I have to change my goal or I have to change myself. Yes, you can muscle your way through life but it’s a sad, hard road. I find it easier and wiser to pay attention to the signs and go with the flow, adjusting my course as needed. I just read the other day that Henry Ford went bankrupt in the early days. He changed his company, his company name, and his direction, and THEN persisted. The result was success. Keep your eye on the ball but keep your ears open too. Follow the signs.

  7. Hi Joe,

    Great and inspiring post.

I believe we create everything we experience (to me there is a difference between attracting and creating) and when you experience discomfort of any kind, it’s because you have beed led to places/experiences where you have a lot of power you can reclaim. You have created a pattern/belief that creates this situation. Everytime I experience problems, so to speak, I go like: “Hey, here’s power hidden that need to be reclaimed, so that I can get closer to living a life with unlimited power and abundance….”

Don’t know if this makes sense…?

    Thank you, Joe,
    Claus 😀

    Hello Joe,

As always the Universe is perfect and your post speaks volumes to me. While I’m not looking for a new car, I have been frustrated and disappointment in matters of the heart and trying to figure out the whys of how this person did an “about face” and decided to end the relationship at the flip of a switch – just like that.

I thought I had finally met “the one” but in reality, the universe knew better. I was compromising what I really wanted for the sake of being in love and not being alone. While this person is wonderful in his own right, I was still compromising what was truly in my heart. When I quiet my heart from the disappointment and look deep within, I realize he truly wasn’t “the one” for me.

You wrote, “You have to remember that what looks like failure could be a message – a message from the Divine/unconscious – about what you really want, about what you really believe, and/or about what the Universe wants for you. This all boils down to trust.”

Thank you for making this crystal clear to me. I trust!

I think that a lot of people think that the law of attraction has failed them because they are not applying it correctly. I had a lot of issues until I read The Law of Attraction Making it Work For You! It really helped me to understand what I was doing wrong.

Plus, the Scorpion is wayyyyy wayyy cooler big Joe!

If I may be so bold to say, I’ve had similar experiences. For me one time I was wanting something that I didn’t realize wasn’t giving me a good feeling. And, unfortunately I did ‘muscle’ my way into it…and guess what…??? Nothing but problems for me! However, when I allowed myself to have what I wanted that I also felt good about, guess what…*shazamm!!* it happened.

Love comin’ to your site big Joe! Keep on doin’ it because it makes a difference 🙂

    Dear Joe,

Whant to get rid from Flying Space Ants?
    (just kidding)

I just received your book Hypnotic Writing in the mail. What a pleasant book it is. It´s sad that a portuguese version does not exist. I still in the middle of it, but if I don´t sleep I´ll have problems tomorrow.

    The Question is

I want to become your student. I´m daring something worthy. This time i´m not kidding around. I really want to work with coaching. I saw the miracles in my life (and some of them are your fault 😀 ) and it´s time to share from my heart to others. I live in a country that needs healing. People grow up scared (I´m pretty sure that´s a global problem) and I want to help them to know that love has a chance in this world. Prosperity exists. Life can be good.

I´m sincerely asking you here because I don´t know where else I should do it. I trust in this message. Thank you again, you really changed my life.

    Lovely,
    Alexandre Dias

    PS: There´s no PS 😀

    Hey Joe
Great post. And for me just at the right time. Specially the part about your computer crashing. Mine had a challenge yesterday and my Outlook gave up, I lost all my emails, contacts, etc from mid 2007 to date – including all of yours and those from Suzanne. So I had to figure how did I attract that… Well I had been thinking about cleaning the files up for some time, though never actually was getting round to it. Could this mean I attracted a fresh, less cluttered start? Maybe a sign to unclutter my head too?

Was grateful too for the comments here on this post – as you offered up Suzanne’s email, and that was one I lost.

    Thx again Joe. Sx

How can I find out what I am unconsciously dismissing?

  17. May 1, 2010 at 4:37 am

Forget the Porsche – get the Scorpy. The car that built in your country, easy to get care and maintenance and finding parts.

There’s no point using foreign cars in a country like yours which already building lots of high quality automobiles. From mass produced to exotic.

Porsche’s image is just a high quality 3D illustration – not real. Some car factories and designers do that to get attention and take some soundings from potential buyers and investors – like you.

Invest to Ronn Motors instead. They need your support more than a German car factory.

Thanks Joe for sharing your experience on the Law of Attractions. It really hit me that I need to get clear on what I want and once I have done this then the law of attraction will give me what I want. If I am not clear it is still giving me what I want but I am going in the wrong path.

    Thanks again for the post.

You were probably a wiiner even before you were born. Too many of us are so defragmented subconsciously carrying all that dark heavy baggage for a lifetime. Sure, we can read all the feel good words and understand them intellectually, but the inner resistance is so great the words just cannot manifest themselves into rreality. A cosmic inner cleansing is necessary to clear the slate of the subcomscious so that transformation can begin to unfold those delightful dimensions so many of us are missing.

    Joe,

As I’ve been working with the LoA for a few years now, I’ve learned one thing…the universe has a different timescale than I do!

My research and experiments in implementing this universal law has suprised me in many ways, but the timing of outcomes can be very mysterious…

At times I will receive instant satisfaction, while at others the wait seems endless…and as you so intuitively stated, sometimes it’s just not meant to happen.

Or, you might not be ready to receive what you’re expecting, so there may be some personal development or further experience required prior to having that thing or experience.

In my book, I suggest not wasting time or effort trying to attract physical stuff, because of the issues you are experiencing right now. Use the quantum field to bring things into your life, but you cannot put a ‘schedule’ around that manifestation.

There is a lot of worry, stress and frustration in the world caused by the very human expectation of getting stuff in a certain timeframe.

The Cosmic Soup isn’t ruled by the Greenwich Mean time…

    Write On!

Greetings Brother Joe! First & foremost, I want to thank you for boosting my business. I too hold a Msc.D. degree as well as a Ph.D. in Transpersonal Counseling. Your appearance in the secret has pushed Msc.D.’s into the mainstream.

My friends often refer to me as Mr. Fire’s “mini me” because we’re both UoM graduates, we both preach the same gospel (so to speak) regarding the law of attraction, & I’ve always had an association with fire because of my work as a Sundoor certified FIREWALKING instructor.
Your specialties are more wealth, finance, & business related which is totally cool!

I lean more towards counseling & education for relationships, spiritual connectedness, & psychic abilities. Also do a lot of work with my own gay community by using the principles as tools for ushering in unconditional acceptance for our kind. Healing adversity & prejudice.

One student of mine, who is also a student of yours, & in fact, was the one who instigated the whole “mini me” found it amusing how every time he sees you you have a new sports car & every time he sees me.., i have a new boyfriend. LOL

    Blessings!

    AJ
