Fifty Million Dollars A Month

The other day I stopped at a gas station to refuel my Spyker. As usual, a few people circled me, wanting to take photos of the exotic car. A woman shyly asked me if the car was a dream purchase of mine or bought just because I had money to burn.

What would you do with $50,000,000 monthly?

What would you do with $50,000,000 monthly?

I told her it was a little of both. That’s when she surprised me by saying oil was discovered on her property. She and her husband were about to start receiving fifty million dollars every month.

Think about it: Fifty million dollars each and every month.

The woman seemed uncomfortable receiving that much money. She went on to tell me that she already had property in different places, several cars, five children, a great life, and more. I noticed she was driving a brand new car which still had the temp tags on it.

She said, “It feels like this is a curse.”

Fifty million dollars a month is a curse?

I felt like I had walked into the Twilight Zone. I didn’t expect this encounter, but felt I must have attracted it for a reason. I felt I had to say something.

“The money is a gift, not a curse,” I told her. “You can direct that money to where you think it will do the most good.”

I’m not sure she heard me. She went on and told me her name (no, I’m not going to tell you it), shook my hand, and then drove off after saying, “Have a nice life.”

Why did this event occur?

I’ve often challenged people to lift their issues around money by pretending they won the lottery. What would you do if you won three million dollars? Your answer helps reveal what you really want to do in your life.

But this woman admiring my Spyker lifted my limits.

What would I do if I suddenly had fifty million dollars coming in every month?

I met a family years ago who has so much money coming in from their inventions that they built a hotel, a car factory, a winery, a spa, a golf course and last I heard, were building an entire city.

That’s them.

What would you do if you had fifty million dollars coming in every month?

Well?

Ao Akua,

Joe

What a wonderful thought – to have all the money you’ll ever need.
I am happy just thinking about it. I am certain that nobody would sit in front of the TV all day long, but find the way to serve the others and make the world better place for all.

Well… for one, I would love a small house. OK, a medium house. I’m not a “villa” type :). Exotic cars? Nah… but if so, I also need a driver, I don’t drive. I have few ideas for businesses, so I would invest some money definitely. I dream about having a small forest with a Reiki/spiritual center in the middle. Oh, and a venture capital fund, definitely, there are hundreds of people around me with great business ideas but no money.

But 50 millions per month? Hmm… an urban farm? I guess it’s a great idea to solve food problems. Oh, and launch a “change your roof into a farm” program for cities. Build few solar and wind power plants, that’s a nice idea, too. Fund a school that would teach about new economy and new thought. And if I run out of ideas, I will sit and watch Kickstarter everyday to where I can spend my money :).

Another fascinating encounter for you Joe 🙂 I hope that she absorbed your words and will go on to see how she can benefit the world with her new income.

I’ve never really had a problem with thinking of how to spend any sum of money. I have friends who think that a £1,000,000 lottery win would be more than they would know what to do with. I could easily imagine spending (literally) any sum of money, because there are always those in real need and ideas for things that could benefit our planet.

Sure I would like some things for myself, things like a Ferrari (just because of my boyhood dreams), being able to fly First Class, stay in the most exclusive hotels, a beautiful country estate (maybe two even) in England, Italy or France. I’m not concerned with displaying my wealth to others, I like to dress comfortably, not by designer label, I haven’t worn a watch for many years and would see no reason to change that. I’d get myself set up with the latest Mac computers, a photographic/video studio, a recording studio …

However, these are all just personal ‘things’ to make my life comfortable, the greatest enjoyment I know would come from other areas. I can immediately think of the basics like clean water, schools, health etc for those in the world who don’t have them – $50M each month would barely scratch the surface. I’d be most interested in developing real long term solutions to these, not just palliative remedies, in other words I wouldn’t do things like throwing my money into the coffers of the drug companies, or handing vast sums over to bloated charities to pay for new Landcruisers!

I might indulge in things like creating a fabulous hotel, ways to make money so that they could finance other projects and bring employment and enjoyment.

It would be a real joy, certainly not a curse, I hope this lucky lady sees that soon.

If she continues to think like that about money it’ll leave her soon.

    Wow, nice car Dr Joe.
Being the creative type I would just create every invention and idea that I have thought of. Obviously what I create would provide some type of relief of burden to others.

Since creation is endless I don’t think I would ever run out of ideas or money(at 50 million a month that is).

As far as physical things go I am really into historic homes. I would love to have the means to restore older homes to their former glory. Its so sad to me to see them neglected or even worse, destroyed.

  7. Dear Joe,
Thank you. Very inspirational. what if… questions like this one are pretty powerful. I ask myself “What would it feel like having….?” instead of “What would I do…?” I have no problem getting ideas for spending money, but I guess the trick is to learn to feel/believe that it could actually be the truth for you and me. Maybe the money is already there, you just have to ‘grab’ them ‘out there’…

Doesn’t this woman’s attitude of seeing wealth as a curse yet being able to attract huge amounts of it into her life blow a hole in your theory that if you curse wealth you will never experience it in your life?

    • October 31, 2011 at 2:27 pm

Hardly. Re-read the post. She said she was already successful. Obviously she is ok with wealth. All that is happening now is she is being stretched to accept more.

I’d build a new animal shelter to replace the one I volunteer at now. It’s been my dream for 10 years, the design is done. Also I’d give a good part to the main shelter, I so admire the woman who started this and would love to see her expand and reach out to more homeless animals. I see it, I feel it and so it shall be. a holistic health center would be built as well so integrative medicine would be available to those in need and for those who want to achieve positive health. Mind, body and spirit.

It is a bit hard to imagine THAT sum of money each month, but I can tell you exactly what I would do, since there are virtually no limits.

First, I would travel the world over, in different forms of transportation, too – flying, sailing, driving, riding animals, skiing, hang-gliding, parasailing, etc.
Then, on those most beautiful locations, I would buy some kind of house or villa, just some area of ultimate relaxation.
The best part of these investments, though, something I have dreamed of for years now, would be the advent of a full-time symphony orchestra. I would hire an orchestra to compose and perform live music for me, the likes of Hans Zimmer, John Williams, Chopin, and so on. To have your own soundtrack would be mystical, yet entirely fulfilling. Music is a gift, and oftentimes it brings to light how awesome life can be.
Throw in some exotic prize-cars like the one pictured above, a personal chef, and the rest donated to developing countries that I have visited, and you’ve got yourself a budget!

50 million a month, this makes 600 million a year. It’s far too much to spend on cars and houses. You would like to make a difference, to do something really meaningful. You now have the ability. And, with this come the problems, as those in power don’t necessarily like your ideas. They would most probably like to draw you into a masonic lodge, so you would be lead to do the things in their agenda, otherwise, who knows what might happen. Maybe this is the curse? Being lead to be a mere puppet in a wider political scheme isn’t something very pleasant, really.

  21. November 24, 2011 at 7:30 pm

Ack. I almost hate to say this, because it sure points out a big limiting belief for me, but… I didn’t know there was enough money in the world that you could GET $50 million per month. (At this point, I’d be happy with $5,000 per month.) And here I thought I was finally wrapping my head around the idea of infinite abundance. Looks like I have some more work to do!

  23. November 28, 2011 at 7:23 pm

TO THE MODERATOR: My last posting had too many typos and spelling errors: Please use this one, and I apologize…

Where do I start…obviously pay off my $25,000 in debts. Give my truck to my brother in Montana, get a new one…pay off my mom. Check her into a ‘hoarders’ re-hab center, if there is such a thing! Help my family with whatever the need for their dreams…none of us make a lot of money, thouth we are all college educated, etc.

    Then I really get started:
Buy all new, the best, D-SLR and video/film production equipment, and start making social adventure documentary films. All over the world for whoever needs them, probably for free since I dont need the money anymore. I have a significant background in photography and film already (teach workshops, weddings, etc, and have also edited and shot shows for the Outdoor Channel, etc. But I no longer have that job, unfortunately. )

I’d travel all over and expose many things that are going on in the world environmentally, socially, etc, and make films about that. Submit these films to festivals, Discovery Channel, etc: wherever there is a market! Start a new niche here?

Then I would start my own TV News Show, called “Good News TV”…and on it would only be the best, inspirational, good and uplifting news from around the world, daily feeds of it, hooked up to every internet broadcaster in vilages, towns, cities world-wide…I would have very high production values so that the first time a casual channel surfer went by my channel, they would actually feel compelled to stop and take a look. Build a website that supports this show in many different ways. Becuase of $50 million a month coming in, I would happily sidestep the thorny problem of who I need to use to advertise on Good News TV…I could almost pay groups to do it, if they were lacking funds! Wow-this would be so much fun! The possibilities are endless! (I once called Joe Vitales office with this in mind, after reading an article he had written saying, in effect, “let me and/or the world know if you have a good idea you want to share with the world”. How did this arise? First I had actually dreamt about meeting Joe, it was a cool dream as we talked for awhile in a cafe in Boulder, CO, where I used to live, then he left and said ‘call me’ in the dream…a few days later, I figured ‘why not’ and I did-to promote this idea-.. no one ever called me back…oh well! With $50 million a month coming in, I wouldn’t need anyone elses help-actually, thats not true, it would be an honor to work this way with Joe..) But I digress.
Then I would do something very similar to what Patrick (above) said: help others start their dreams through, say, Kickstarter. Especially film projects (can you tell I am into film?) Get crazy good people with great ideas but little to no budget to get their best work out there without always scrambling for funds. “Go for it, you’re taken care of. I will still have at least $40 million leftover this month!!” What a thought!
I myself have also ‘invented’ a product that I have long thought would be very useful in the world, especially these days. Its kind of a techie product, so I would need a lot of help since I am no techie whatsoever. I’d hire a team to go for it, develop it, patent it, find many different uses for it, etc. Wheee! This is fun!

Next, or simultaneously: I would buy a working already established dude ranch in Montana, Colorado, or Wyoming, and turn it into one of the biggest dreams I have had for years: a very unique healing retreat center… a place where those with money subsidize, in effect, those that dont have a lot-or any at all! So that anyone can afford to come to this place for a week and just…be…healed: Massage? NLP? Psychotherapy? Energy Medicine? The latest in cancer/difficult to heal conditions? Need help doing a diet or a cleanse? Its all here-and so much more…. I have so many ideas on this it took me 4 hours one day just to write it down, and how I would structure the financial aspect of it so that literally even a person who makes $15,000 a year can still ‘afford to come here. Of course, with $50 mil a month, I could obviously help an enormous amount of people who needed it. I’d even bring in 5-10 ‘homeless’ people in a month, since I have been so close to that myself so often. If anyone reading this is interested, including healers, please contact me about this…
I have, in a way, started this dream at age 45 by working at a ranch in Wyoming as we speak. But the pay is low, etc, and I dont see how I will ever be able to fund such a thing.. I am open to suggestions!
Oh…what else? Materialistically: an old Thunderbird t-top. Maybe a Tesla roadster. A cabin in Montana, one in Colorado, and across the sea. Where? A small ranch in New Zealand would be nice, with fishing access to fly-fish for the big browns that they are famous for. Maybe even a helicopter pad so we (you are invited) could go fishing, sightseeing, anywhere we wanted to!
Speaking of helicopters: a lifelong dream as an avid outdoorsman and and skier: a few weeks of heli-skiing in Canada or Alaska. Every year I would go for at least 2 weeks, I am sure. OMG!! And pay for those of my friends, etc, who cant afford $5-7000 a week.

In the end, though, what I would want to do with all that extra $: fund others dreams and projects. Become a major philanthropist-because I truly believe that the energy of money is meant to be used to help others, to make this planet a better place to live for as many people as possible-unlike the greed that we are seeing at the highest level in our world right now-my money would actually foment social change…constructively. I would have so much fun doing this, I probably would forget to be overly selfish and buy myself all kinds of things. They are just things.
And more: I’d go back to school in energy medicine, NLP, trauma therapy, who knows…. the best thing is, for the first time in my life I would never never never have to worry or live in fear of ‘not enough’ That would free up my soul so greatly, I would explode from the inside out.
    I could go on…and on … and on…
This has been fun….please, everyone, dream big….Even though I so often live my life in a shadowy fear of losing what very little I have, you dont have to! Thats why all this money would literally change my DNA: it would allow me to be who, and what, I came here for: an agent of change, an angel for those in need, a healer for those who need to be healed.

Joe: if you ever find that woman again, please, for Gods sake, tell her there is someone who would know EXACTLY what to do with all that money!! And beyond. I am not kidding! Blessings…

  24. November 30, 2011 at 8:12 pm

This is most inspiring. Actually, I happened to meet ideas and projects that need billions. How about an environmentally-friendlier airport called Starrport, and 123 advanced inventions with it by the American eco-engineer Jim Starry? 6 billion with a Return-on-investment time of about two years!
And how about a whole state? The exquisite plan called ‘the Arc’ which Suisman Urban Architects developed for Palestine. A sustainable home with dignity for 6 million plus people, organically built by themselves. From prison to paradise, helped by and readily co-created with the whole world.
Estimated costs in its first phase some 9 billion, will pay itself back immediately in manifold ways.
A project like ‘the Arc’ heals deep wounds of the past and lifts humanity to unknown stages of solidarity. It will lead to sharing and caring, and to trillions of extra income because the war machine has been stopped. The concept of a basic income for everyone comes into play.
Abundance for All, and an evolutionary step for humanity who will imagine, understand and experience its intrinsic unity for the first time. Then, these 50 millions a month to begin with have been a small price to invest.

  25. December 1, 2011 at 4:17 am

    – Moderator, while waiting that my comment is placed, I spotted a typo. Could you correct the 6 billion in the first paragraph to 3 billion? The average price of a (1.000+ daily flights) airport would be six billion, but a Starrport could be built for half. That is where the extraordinary ROI figures come from, next to the environmental and logistical benefits.

As soon as asked the question I started visualizing all these negative images. That’s why I don’t have more money in my life then exactly what I need to survive. It’s because I am cursing wealth subconsciously. Not that people with money are evil. But for me to have more money would equal pain not pleasure. I didn’t even know it until now. Crazy. If I have 50 million dollars coming in each month, I would first embrace my dream come true of total financial freedom! Then I would stop working for someone else and start spending more time with my family. I would be with my 2 children throughout the day, setting a good and fun rhythm for them. We’d have a simple, fulfilling life of baking, gardening, painting, and creating. I would take time each day to pray and do yoga. Then, next we’d buy a large plot of land and raise cows and such for a farm (and hire help). I would hire someone to teach me all about gardening and farming. I would try to be as self-sufficient as possible. Then I would open a hotel or bed and breakfast, and invite guests to come stay and experience the little paradise farm that we had. Now, I would like to do this in a warm climate, one close to the ocean! My husband is from Bali, Indonesia, so perhaps we’d do it there. We would help the local economy in hiring the locals and bringing in tourists. We would promote protecting the local culture, which is so amazing! Finally, I would travel to many countries and experience differing viewpoints. I would give to many things that inspire me–imagine just giving 15% of 50 million dollars. That is 7,500,000, is it not?!!!!!

You know, Joe, you look like a nice guy. So, why to write about one lady bragging about the fact she is rich and she is now going to be even richer? Should we feel envy of this “poor” lady with her alleged curse? Obviously she felt envy of your car and wanted to brag with you by telling you that she is going to be even richer.

I have to agree that money is not evil. The problem with money is that people who has it, makes them wish to have more, and more, and more. Even when they don’t need it. They just want it, in case they cross roads with someone with more money, they can brag about it. Money is not evil but is the father of greed and vanity.

I have to agree on Jesus with the next:

The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, “What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.”

Then he said, “This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I’ll say to myself, ‘You have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.'”

But God said to him, “You fool! This very night your life will be demanded of you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?”
This is how it will be for anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich toward God. — Luke 12:16-21

My point is if I had 50 millions dollars a month, I wouldn’t brag about it. I would help, as many people as I could, anonymously, “and your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you” —Mathew 6:4

If you brag about your money, you will already have received your reward in this world.

And I mean real schools; true immersion experiences for students of all ages in just about any subject you can think of; especially the ones that really count, like mastering the mind, or taking care of your body. You want to be mechanic? We’ll teach you to service Joe’s Spyker, and invent and patent a product of your own. You want to be a doctor? We’ll teach you to operate skillfully, AND how to be human to a patient. You want to be a writer? We’ll teach you how to master your genre and how to pitch it to our publishing house. You want to be a barber? We’ll teach you how to cut hair like a celebrity stylist and how to build your brick and mortar business from the ground up. You want to be a teacher? We’ll train you to be the best there is, and start your salary at a respectable 100k and help you grow from there. I could go on for days. I’ve got journals full of these plans, and $50m a month would be just the ticket. When no government funding is needed true education is possible. Thx for the inspiration, Joe.

Wow, hard to imagine, I believe the universe has an infinite amount of money to offer for those who can really feel it’s coming, will spend wisely and in a humble manner. I believe I will soon get my 50 million but not monthly, this would be a once in a blue moon. Definitely with that monthly amount We would be able to provide homes for people to live permanently without having a worry to pay their rent. Provide employment and so much more. A shame that all that money can’t fix global worming. As I always say, trust, believe and it will come.

Fifty million a month!!! Well I want to start an organization that helps regular working ppl. Like a single mother of six who works five jobs and just wants a house or maybe a vacation to Disney. I would ride by bus stops and throw $100 bills at the really sad ppl sitting at the stop, maybe even car keys to a brand new car. I would also have a money truck that pulls up at different locations once monthly and gives ppl whatever amount they need. I already help ppl daily at work. I would just do it on a grander scale.
I would spoil myself and my kids! I would drive a regular car by day and a Ferrari, or something really nice at night.
