The Abundance Manifesto: Secret #1

Over the next few weeks I’m going to post ten principles of abundance. I’m calling them The Abundance Manifesto. This is to help pave the way for my new audio program, The Abundance Paradigm: Moving from the Law of Attraction to the Law of Creation (coming out late October).

These are my observations about how you can attract personal and planetary wealth. Wealth, of course, is more than money, so these ideas are more sweeping than you may at first realize.

Since I’m just sculpting these thoughts, please be forgiving in reviewing them. In fact, what I’d love is your opinion. Please comment on each to help me refine them all. The end result will be a useful set of insights for you, me, and everyone else.

Here’s the first one:

Thou shall see the alternative reality.

In every moment you have a choice. You can see the limitation before you, or you can see the abundance before you. Life is an optical illusion. What you see depends on your mindset. Your mindset depends on your programming. Because most of us are programmed by the negative seeking media, as well as our education, parents, and all else around us, most of us are seeing the scarcity reality. Yet an abundance reality also exists. In other words, are you seeing an old woman or a young woman in the famous art from the late 1800s? It depends on your focus. Relax your view and you can see both ladies exist. The same is true for reality. It’s time to move from seeing the world as scarcity and fear based to the world that also exists that is abundance and love based. You have a choice. Allow your eyes to see the new world.

At very begining i just can see a girl until i found the girl’s ear is old woman’s eye…

Once you see both, you’ll always see them easily.

    Hello Joe,
I have been focusing on this very thing. How is it that one hundred people can be in the same place at the same time and only one or two see the money and abundance opportunities present? It is because they see the alternative reality — except those who see the alternative reality do not call it that — they call it their reality.

I was just telling my husband something very similar today. Synchronicity, as I, please do not take this personal, do not read every notice I receive from your blog :). My days are so blurred with chaos, the evenings are my time of solitude and peace. Yet, I seem to spend them on the computer with trivial things. Today, I decided to shut of the trivial, and there was your blog post.
I homeschool my kids, and this afternoon our history lesson on the Revolution consisted of a fabulous film series from the History Channel. It brings the time before the Revolution to life, and shows how robust and simple people were. Yet, they were intelligent, adventurous, and innovative. They took charge to reach their dreams, no matter what hardship they had to endure. They either made it big (which sometimes meant just surviving to live how they chose), or died.
I think we (and I am speaking mostly of me) often lack this drive any more. At dinner, I told my husband about this movie, and how we should take that as an example to fulfill our dreams. We are slave to stuff, debt, responsibility, tiresome and straining work schedules, and lack of true intention or manifestation of the things we really yearn to do.
That is going to change. Now. It is time to change the perception of our reality (see above, quite BLAH).
Just a note: It took me forever to “see” the old woman in the picture. So strange, as I have seen this picture many times in my lifetime.
I will be following your posts with more appreciation, and focus now, Grazie!

The Way things are is the way they are.
Theres a force out there as well as people, thought force? If certain people
dont want you to have something, or
do something, you aint doin it, or you
aint gettin it period. THATS reality!
For instance, you want a certain job,
and the person who hires wont under
any circumstances gettin that job period. You can visualize ect, you aint
gettin the job. In those colonial days
people were more likely to help each other. Times are not the same.
If you want a date with someone you find attractive, and he or she has thoughts against it, you aint goin!
The problem with all this Attraction
stuff is you are goin against other peoples thoughts, and they will stop you dead in your tracks. WE live in a thought world and THATS reality!
If your in the Electric chair, do you think
your thoughts ect are gonna stop it?
You plan on ATTRACTING a Miracle?

      • September 24, 2010 at 10:06 am

Other people’s thoughts will never counter what you unconsciously expect from them.

If i want something from you,
and i unconciously have no doubt
i will get it, and your unconcious
thought is no i wont, which is what
i mean by that force out there, oh yes
their thoughts can stop me. dont my
unconcious thoughts and theres have to be in Harmony??? All ive been trying
to ask is and understand there ARE
forces out there set against you.
Thoughts of others ect, Joe how do i
          overcome that?????

          • September 24, 2010 at 3:07 pm

against? Other people and their thoughts??

It’s not others you are up against, but what blocks you from within.. You cannot attract anything in your current state, bc you feel as if you are warring with others. In reality, it’s yourself. The inside of you is stopping the abundance you see. Trust me, you want me to get very, very blunt.. You have something negative clogging up your mind, it’s stopping your eyes from seeing what can be.. Something is getting in the way and it isn’t other people’s thoughts, it’s yours. The problem you are feeling and having must be resolved from within. Clear out the old, whether it be an old love gone wrong, financial issues, someone who hurt you, whatever, get clear on why you feel that way.. Once you do, you’ll be able to SEE what’s right in front of you and been there all along.. Sincerely.. Joe has helped me, it’s taken a while, he’s changed my life.. Now I see all things abundantly different.. Don’t give up.. Thank you Joe..

There is no out there… your perception of ‘ out there’ make it so. We get what we perceive — that’s become the reality. After practicing the h’oponopono…. there is nothing out there. It’s all inside… the world reflect it like a mirror. We are what we think about, we are what we perceive about. Just be aware.

Since abundance is beyond reality, I suggest the first insight to be:
Thou shall see that abundance is.
    The second:
Thou shall see the alternative realities.

    Hi Dr Vitale.

Please be forgiving to my thoughts. These are just random thoughts that came to my mind after reading this post.

You said our mindset depends upon our programming – Agreed.

    Abundant reality exists – agreed.

It (reality) depends upon our focus – questions…

Isn’t it so that our focus depends upon our programmng? Aren’t most of us programmed to view only a particular reality? The scarce reality? In my opinion it is not like viewing the same picture from different angles, It is more like playing a computer game. The picture that is made on the screen depends upon the programming instructions fed to the computer.

Abundance reality can only be viewed when it is allowed to be viewed by our critical factor (programming – computer game analogy)?

So, does putting on new eyes mean that we negate our age-old programs that have been fed to us through our childhood from our parents, teachers, religion etc.and re-program us through new beliefs?

Or do you believe that just by putting on new glasses on our eyes, that may skew the perceived reality to be of a young lady (abundance) change our life?

    • September 24, 2010 at 7:31 am

What a great question. You’ve got me thinking.

My first thought is that the abundance I’m talking about is behind the reality most of us see. So when you take off the scarcity glasses, you don’t put on another pair; instead, you see what’s been there all along.

My second thought is that your comment seems like a vote for scarcity. In other words, it appears triggered by the underlying belief, “I can’t see abundance since I wasn’t programmed to see it.” That, of course, is a belief and not a fact.

I’ll contemplate this more. I really appreciate your comment.

      Thank you

You are right, A simple observation
proves no doubt, abundance is everywhere.IN enormous amounts!
However you may also observe, that
while we are all surrounded by it, right
in the middle of it, theres a force out
there of some type determined to take
it all for itself, even if we do get possibly a small amount, the powers
have set the rules to grab it away from us.That also along with abundance, is

    • September 24, 2010 at 11:13 pm

After I posted my last question something happened, I got new insights. And when I read Dr. Joe’s reply to my quesiton more things got cleared.

You said: “theres a force out there of some type determined to take it all for itself.”

I agree there is a dark force BUT it CANNOT act on its own. It can only act through us.

It acts through us by programming us with the wrong directives or showing us the scarce reality.

I believe “We create our own reality.” If we create our own reality then how come any outside force interfere with that reality? There’s only 1 way: it sits on our subconscious.

How to remove it from there? That’s the million dollar question.

      • September 25, 2010 at 8:58 am

Very wise reply. Please consider using the clearing method I wrote about in my book (coauthored with Dr. Hew Len) Zero Limits. See http://www.zerolimits.info -joe

By getting clear my, by getting clear. I highly recommended you to read Joe Vitale’s book called —- The keys. There are about 10 method there for clearing. Use which ever you feel comfortable. Each time you read it you get a new insight. i found EFT works for me. I follow this up by reading Zero Limits.
Then I also follow it up by reading the Secret of the Millionaires Mind by THarv Eker. Reading inspiration self Help books expand the mind as well as the vision. One books leads me to the next book. There is a trail. The law of attraction ialso about taking action. When you’re clear that’s when you’re new insight comes in. Then you will have 360 degrees view of your life, then you can start creatinga new reality.

    Hi Joe,
As a cartoon illustrator I really enjoyed the first secret – I love the double take on the picture. I think I temporary fell into the trap of scarcity with all the negative media in the UK regarding the recession. But I’m a fan of your writings and always dip into one of your books when I’m going off track and need a positive lift back.

I continually return in my head to the message that Louise Hayes says whenever she encounters something that she does does not want as part of her life here on earth, “This is not part of my experience.” I immediately saw the younger woman first in the picture, so instead of trying to focus and strain to see the older one, I just clicked off of it statisfied that I had indeed gotten your point.

    Joe, great post! Thanks!
I have been raised in ex-communist country. My parents gave me those scarcity glasses to use to see the world. Now, at the age of 53, I realize that it is only one of the ways to perceive reality. I choose now to use the abundance glasses. But my inner child (my subconscious mind) keeps insisting on using the old ones. I developed my watcher (after years of Holosync meditation) so I understand exactly how everything is happening. The most important distance is between the conscious and subconscious mind (from our thoughts to our emotions). How we deliberately change our emotions? Because, when we mix thoughts and emotions, we create feelings, which is our language of manifestation. I am still in the process of figuring out how to fuel my deliberate thoughts with positive emotions (they are only 2 emotions – love and fear).
My greatest challenge is to replace my old “scarcity” program with a new, “abundance” one. What if my computer needs a new CPU or motherboard and cannot handle the new program? I am sure that we all have the tools to achieve anything. How we can learn using them? How we can FEEL the knowing of having them?

    • September 24, 2010 at 10:07 am

Great questions. My view of abundance is that it is your motherboard, not another program. – joe

  12. September 24, 2010 at 9:52 am

You are very right, Dr. Vitale. The kind of eyes you have is what will determine your view of the world. It’s all about perspective. That’s what the mind works on.

And I also think that the art is a great example to use because sometimes when an artist draws something someone might say it resembles a tree and another person might say it resembles a fish, whiles the artist might even say it’s a ship he drew. The way one creates his or her life depends on their perspective on what’s happening in the world.

I was a bit down and negative today but reading this article on putting on new eyes and seeing the new world has made me been able to change my mindset immediately from negative to positive and start seeing some things that I wasn’t when I was being negative and down.

Thanks very much for that, Dr. Vitale. God bless you!! :))

    Great article!! :))

I have been through the School of Hard Knocks myself and I think I understand where you are coming from. If you permit, I would like to share a bit of what I gradually came to realize.

For most of my life, I believed that I was living my own life and I believed that the things that I believed I wanted were constantly blocked and kept from me. I mean, how wrong is it to want a good marriage and a nice home? I did everything I knew how to do to have those things, including going to counseling. Nothing worked. Nothing. The more I wanted it, the less I had of it. Simultaneously, I was on a quest to understand what it means to really pray. I was raised a preacher’s kid, but I was raised that it was more spiritual to be poor. That did not make sense to me. Jesus said that he came so we could have an abundant life. Eventually, I realized that I had to either believe what my parents taught me or what Jesus said. I choose to believe what Jesus said. I making that choice, it was as though the kaleidoscope of information in my mind was shifted and I saw the same information in a different way. Gradually, the shift took me in very different direction altogether.

Then I realized that everything I believed I wanted was really a product of who I was shaped and defined to be by my outer world such as parents, teachers, society, etc. instead of being shaped by the inner real me. It has taken a long, long time to clear away other people”s stuff that encroached itself on my mind thoughts since infancy but I am now finally beginning to know who _I_ am as God made me to be!!! All of those blocks were really the Universes way of directing me to discover my real self! The emotion that comes up with each encounter taught me something about myself. Emotions are not something to be changed, they are instructions about how to live. If we experience anger, for instance, it is telling us that in some way our core being feels violated. It is our job to sift through the gunk and figure out what it is that makes us feel violated. This is a lot of work and, in my experience, I had to dig down through a gazillion layers to get to the truth about me; what is really that shapes and defines me from the inside out?
Once I started to be in conscious awareness of that, I began to make shifts in how I created new dynamics and boundaries for myself.

The same is true for other emotions, including those of joy. If we feel joy and happiness, contentment, etc., our emotions are instructing us that those experiences are the ones that are true to our self and they satisfy the soul. Emotions can be categorized in just two groups; the ones that make us feel good and the ones that make us feel bad. As I have learned to make the shift into living in the experiences of the things that make me feel good, life has opened to me in a different way. The more I shift, the more I realize that the blocks were just futile head-butting exercises with the Universe. I have discovered my true self and now I want to learn how to express my true self to my fullest potential. Among other things, I am an artist and a writer, I have a creative and a very inquisitive mind (I am the consummate question-asker!). The question I ask myself is: How can I express these God-given talents more fully and in a way that will be of a service and blessing to others?

I am at the first part of the learning curve about this. It is a huge transition for me in that I was constantly told as I was growing up that one cannot make money doing art and I was not allowed to take any art classes in school. I channeled my creative talents into things that were acceptable to my family and my awesome art talent lay hidden and latent. I developed my writing skills directly because of this. As a sophomore in high school, I decided that since I couldn’t draw or paint as an artist, I would paint my pictures with words. I applied myself to this and received good grades as a result. This, of course, was an acceptable accomplishment to my family. It did not satisfy the inner artist in me, however, and the artist forever banged at my door begging to be let out. I finally did that in my mid-30s when I returned to the University to complete my studies for my degree and took art classes as an elective. Even when I discovered that I had talent, the conditioning of my upbringing continually tried to thwart its release! It has taken forever for me to realize that this is an aspect of my true self and that I need to embrace it with love and nurture it the same way a mother loves and nurtures her child. I do not know where this will eventually lead, but I do know that as I have begun to not only create art, but just as importantly, let other people see it, I am beginning to receive encouragement, complements, and feedback from people I did not even know! Their feedback touches my soul in places I hadn’t even known existed before! Each time that happens, a little more of the true me comes further into my conscious awareness and even though I know that the real me has never changed but is simply emerging, I _feel_ like a new person! At a time when so many people of my age have begun to wind down, I feel like I have just now become alive! I can feel my inner momentum taking over and I am so happy to finally be more fully consciously acquainted with who I really am!

Yesterday as I was driving home from my aunt’s funeral, I was contemplating how I want the end of my life to be. I want people to celebrate my victories, not mourn my passing. Just that little awareness shifted the kaleidoscope of my mind thoughts yet again. I asked myself the question, “And just what ARE your victories?” I was amazed at how many things that up until then seemed trivial loomed out at me now as a big shiny star. They are INNER victories that are now making a difference in my outer life. I know with every single cell of my being that my life has changed and that I will soon be reaping the seeds that I have planted of the REAL me and they will bring abundance. I put away the bag of old seeds that had been given to me by well-meaning people who think praying is with words to an unseen God. I know now that the way I live is a prayer and that God lives within me. He is seen in the way that I express myself. I can choose to express God the way other people taught me or I can express God as I understand him through discovering and expressing my true self. I am thankful for the blocks that loomed at me from all aspects. I am thankful for the frustration and anger that I experienced. It is because of these allegedly negative emotions that I was driven and driven to overcome them. I did not give up. The more I was block, the more anguish I felt, the more determined I was to find the way – even when was totally clueless about what the way might be. The fist thing I did was to follow the gut feelings that I knew from past experience had proven to never be wrong. I knew i had frequently misinterpreted what my gut was telling me, but in retrospect the gut feeling in and of itself was never ever wrong. I learned how to trust it. Now, the majority of the time, I just do what it tells me to do and don’t even bother to try to interpret it. There is victory in experiencing the blocks and that victory is YOU because I am able to share my experience with you and trust that it will touch your life in a way that is unique to you so you can become victorious over your personal blocks.

I encourage you to explore and discover your true self. Follow your gut feelings, your inner nudges and urgings. Learn to differentiate them from head chatter and false desires. Even if you never have all the money that you would want, you will at last have found peace within yourself and that, my friend, is absolutely priceless. Remember, your life is a prayer. You ARE reaping what you sow. I had some bitter pills to swallow when I recognized the truth of that, but it IS true and once you work through it, you will encounter fewer and fewer blocks.

Thoughts and visualizations are not the means. They represent the end of the means…the means is to really get to know your true self. Know that YOU are love and express Love fully in all you do, say and think.

wrong?? WHO am i asking? Im not a

Jesus pray to something or someone
outside of himself when praying TO

OMG @ ALI. Your so right I’m utterly on the same page with you, although my parents were supportive of whatever we aimed for, it was my siblings that were the negative ones. Especially so because I am the youngest. But I was having a discussion with a friend, yesterday.. and we began to discuss this subject in depth. I totally comprehended how it all comes together. I did my own research and reading and I had the biggest “DING” occur. This concept of the universe giving in my opinion still to me out to lend credit to a powerful creator.

          @ FATHER
There is a scripture @ Mark 11:24, that says Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. This lends fact to the importance of not doubting God or yourself and his capabilities. It means really harnessing his qualities being that we are made in his image. There is another scripture says.. along with “THANKSGIVING” let your petitions be made known. That means don’t just ask and ask, without thanking first. This is also one of the fundamentals that people tend to over look, wanting and not giving, and not appreciating. Really ask your self what are you being thankful for are you seeking ways to take part of yourself to help others. Its not a matter of just saying “ok I visualized I asked”. What are you giving what are you working for yo. You have to make effort to make your mind over. It takes a while, but you can .. stop doubting so much. I sense a grave amount of doubt in you, so although your asking, your still doubting which ultimately puts you in the same position.

Believe what you are asking for, Visualise it, Take action, Command your dreams to come to you. Let go of attachment when you ask. Want what you ask but not need it. It’s about letting go. And Gratitude, Take gratitude in advance and take gratitude from where you are standing.
Here is some exercise each day before you retire to bed… Write 10-20 things you thankful for that happen to you each day. Give thanks in advance what you wish to achieve. Be aware of your thought.

Here ia another exercise for you…. When you wake up this morning, what did you ask for?

Ok the world is full of the negative stuff…. keep remembering how you wish to see the so called “negative stuff” In beneath it all there is something good in it. If we look deep in our soul and ask “what good things can come out of this?” and Only expect good things! You get good things. Be quiet and it will reveal itself.

The idea of the above pic of the old and young woman is about being prepare to look at 2 perspective. There is always 2 sides to the coin. Head and tail. Nothng in between. Think Yin/Yang Negative/Positive.

If you’re only after prayer here is one ” God supplies my goods exceedingly, Thank you. or God supplies all my needs Now, Thank you.

Change your thought… change your life and Highly recommend that you read the book… The Power of the Ssubconcious Mind by Joseph Murphy. it’s agood start from getting a new life perspective.

Right you are! Abundance is reality!! All the masses are seeing right now are problems…while the great ones are busy figuring how to solve those problems and earn a fortune doing it! The bigger the problem, the richer society will make you for solving it. These are exciting times, Joe, and the competition seems to have gone home. Gotta love it, baby! Great post, Joe. I’m looking forward to the net one.

    Hi Joe,

Secret one is the most logical place to start I agree. We all have a choice as to how we see the world, and working with abundance starts from that choice. Scarcity and abundance are really differenet sides of the same coin, one persons scarcity could be anothers abundance. It’s the same with the picture, both exist in the same moment it just takes a slight shift of viewpoint. ( Great idea for including that picture it is a perfect example of what you are talking about.)

You talk about the way our media focuses on scarcity. I didn’t realize just how much this was the case until I stopped listening to the news. I thought I would be missing out on something when I stopped, but as it turns out, not getting that daily message of scarcity has shifted my viewpoint. Now occassionally when I am forces to endure the news, I can see how hard the media works to take the negative track in every story.

I am looking forward to the rest of the manifesto.

PS Just finished Zero Limits. Talk about a shift in viewpoint! Thanks

Amazing, this is the first time I have been to your blog, a good friend emailed it to me, and you spoke (wrote) exactly what I needed to hear.
“You can see the limitation before you, or you can see the abundance.”
After reading it I wrote it out and hung it in my bathroom mirror. It is truly amazing what life can be if you choose to see the abundance rather than the limitation. Thank you for the timely and gentle reminder that I needed!

Joe, I suscribe to the ideas shared in this article. I would suggest enriching it with tips on how a person can change his/her paradigms and see the glass half-full and not half-empty.
Based on my own experience, I have intentionally developed my “positive muscles” starting with small things, such as how to react to long commuting times. Instead of getting upset at traffic jams, I would use that “down-time” to listen to educational CDs and audio books.
    Hope this helps.

I love the idea of abundance, but do you ever think it’s overwhelming? If anything and everything is possible, are you supposed to focus on all the things you want all the time or prioritize them? For instance, if someone wants to get in shape and get a new job, do they pick one to pour their energy into or try to manifest them at the same time?
Thank you for everything you’ve shared with the world!
    Have a blessed evening!

    • September 25, 2010 at 8:59 am

You can have whatever you want, just not all at once. Be in the moment and follow the energy.

Sorry for my bad English, I hope you can understand something.
I know well this picture, very famous optical illusion. I’ve always managed to see both figures. But today I can not remember how I did! I only see the young woman. I try, I look and look again, but I can not see the old lady. Less than a month I’m doing Ho’oponopono … will be for that? I do not know … Is not limiting to see only one side of reality? If one sees the two sides of the coin may exercise their free will, but you only see one, how you doing? Peace and love! Paola

This is great stuff. I love how you used the drawing as an example. I’m a college professor of art, and an artist. I love teaching basic drawing courses with non art students. Each semester they come into my course ” with beliefs that they can not draw “, this is even before we have technically drawn anything. I teach them that drawing is not so much about the actual action of drawing, but more so the ability to SEE what is really there, rather than what one “thinks ” is there. There is a very BIG difference. So, in 15 weeks I help them re-install their system software on HOW to SEE, because the more we observe things as they are, the more we SEE. Its actually a meditative process because it allows access to the right side of the brain. Most people SEE by default, and this in not their fault ( but it is their responsibility 🙂 – it is this way simply because they do not have what I call a ” visual literacy “. Your basic public school education will not expose you to this. Most people do not know what to look for as they are Seeing, or how to look at things in general. Why is it important to learn how to see things as they really are? I ask my classes on the first day. the class is blank, it had never occurred to them that it even was important, and plus, they never questioned the way they were seeing. There is also a whole language that defines the principles of seeing ( and hearing, and sensing, and smelling and feeling ) they are inter-connected and extremely important. I would love to chat with you about it more.

    Hi Dr. Joe:

It is so true that our reality mirrors what we choose to “see”.

I have a friend who was physically abused and beaten by her ex-husband. Her view was that men are bad, frightening, and out to hurt women. I also have an ex-husband, but my marriage experience was of a gentle person who was kind to everyone. My view was that men are protective and want to help women.

We had many mutual acquaintances. Where I saw a good friend, she saw someone who should be kept at a distance, just in case… Interestingly, these men treated me with respect and kindness, and at the same time would treat her less well. They were all kind and gentle people, yet somehow a sharp tone and disrespect came out in their voice when speaking to or about my friend.

We have both remarried, to wonderful men. Now my friend’s opinion of men has changed to be more trusting and open. Not surprisingly, she now has respect, protection, and gentleness from many male friends.

Thank you for all your teaching and insights. I am looking forward to your new program. I just completed “The Missing Secret” and am using Ho’oponopono on a regular basis.

    Keep up the great work.

    Live with passion and purpose,

I really love the way you used the image to illustrate your point. As human beings we seem to grasp concepts better when they are accompanied by pictures or music.

Art is universal. If done well it evokes emotions. All humans regardless of their background have emotions. Recording artist write or perform music that resonates with peoples emotions. The music brings back memories good or bad and sends us on an emotional roller coaster. And we love to ride.

In viewing other visual art we filter it through the goggles of our life experiences and beliefs. Oh how art imitates life. We continually view all of our life experiences based on previous life experiences, thus creating a reality that ain’t real. It becomes a life of replayed memories and stuck beliefs.

Thanks for helping to break the cycle.

    Hi Joe,
I have watched the Secret, read the Attractor Factor (which I loved) bought the Awakeing Course, which I am on part 4 of and am almost done with the Key.
I have to tell you a little story. I live in a very old, disintegrating mobile home on a beautiful piece of property. I bought this place in 1979 with my first husband. It was only four years old at the time. I was divorced and remarried in 1985 and divorced again in 1996. I worked full time as a Registered Veterinary Technician which was my life’s dream job. I was born to work with animals. Every fiber of my being loves animals and equally loves art. I was also born an artist.
In 2000 I lost my career overnight to a major back injury that I had first sustained in 1984. Working for another 17 years didn’t help the back or my shoulder. I was put out to pasture by workman’s comp and by Social Security. I collect SSD now which is a blessing as I cannot work full time doing normal type work.
I wish I had gotten a new home back in the 90s but it never happened. I have had a lot of doubts in my life that I would ever be able to afford a new home on my property due to my low income. I work part-time at our local community college in a job that I can physically take.
I also graduated from that college in 2006 with three associate degrees and certificates for English, Art and Liberal Studies. I am a consummate life-long learner. I just graduated with my bachelor’s degree in Interactive Media and Web Design from an online college.

I plan on teaching part time, or full time online. While I was a vet tech I also earned 5 certificates in Small Animal Nutrition and was the only Certified Small Animal Veterinary Dental Technician. I specialized in Nutrition and Dental work during my 20 years with the same practice.

I went through a very depressing, bleak period in my life after losing my career. I had major problems with my teenagers at the time, money was scare and then in 2006 I lost my Mom three weeks before I graduated. I gave the Farewell Speech for my graduating class in front of 800 people. I am not a 25 yr old, I am 55. I was 51 when I graduated from community college.

I started ready about manifesting back before my injury in 2000 as I sold Nikken magnets and there was a lot of John Asarfet, Bob Proctor etc in on these products. They really piqued my interest in these things and when the Secret came out I watched it about 4 times in a row.

The point behind all of this is that I did exactly what Ali talked about in her beautiful message above and really learned who I was inside. I have overcome the pain of losing my career, the pain of being a battered wife and of having a son that was violent and out of control for years. I have overcome the pain of my daughter lashing out at me in her own pain of coming from a fractured family. I have found peace within me, without me. I am alone and while a relationship would be nice, I am not in need of one.

But the new home alluded me even still. I don’t make more money, but when I need money, it just appears in my mailbox or my bank account. Money has never been a big want for me, but new home is a must because of the condition of this place. I was living with rats in the walls until the cat killed them all. I live in the country with wood rats all around me and they decided that my house was a cozy place to be last winter.

I was driving home from a concert last July that I never thought I would go to (it was Paul McCartney live in San Francisco!!) and I was listening to the Awakening course. I knew there was some thing holding me back from this home and I had a sneaking suspicion of what it was but when you spoke about counter-intentions or beliefs I knew what it was.

Unconsciously, and not so unconsciously, I kept telling myself, “I can’t afford the payments” on a new place. Right now I pay only $328. a month for my house payment and only owe $24,000 on my place. I had to refinance in 1996 when my ex left me with his credit card debt.

I started saying to myself instead, ” I CAN afford the payments, I WILL afford the payments” and tell myself this every day.

So here I was driving home from the bay area and I saw this gorgeous manufactured home on a lot with a huge sign that says “$41,000” on it. I started down a side road to go get my dog at the dog sitters and something told me very LOUDLY to turn around and go look at that house. Well, in the past I would have said, ya right but this time I did what you told us to do, follow our nudges.

So I turned around and stopped and the owner was just getting ready to show it to someone. I walked into this house and my breath was taken away!! It was exactly the floor plan I wanted and had at least 60 of back at home. I have been looking mind you, since the late 80s at these homes.

Then I heard a sentence come out of my mouth that said, “what can you do to make this my house?” I was pretty shocked I said it but it felt totally right.

So to skip ahead, I am still in the old place, but I have a loan in process right now with Wells Fargo and I am sending thoughts of passing and completion to. This home will be a ‘green home’ and thus I will be getting help from the county buying it with a very low interest rate on a loan that will finish off what I need to buy the house after it’s built. I am still waiting on word for construction as well but mostly that my loan is going to be approved. I don’t have a large income yet and while my credit isn’t bad, it isn’t sterling either.

So any positive thoughts sent this way are appreciated, but mostly I wanted you to know how deeply your writings have affected me. I have been sharing them with a friend I found after searching for him for 37 years and finally found on Facebook.

I am using Ho’oponopono daily to deal with some pain I have regarding the loss of my Mother’s things to my lying step-sister and also on the man I love who is too afraid of life and love to give us a chance. I use it all day while I am doing my chores and whatever I am doing. I feel so much better when I do it. Thank you for sharing that with all the world.

I just wanted to end this with my feelings about your work Joe. I have listened to all the big speakers and read dozens of books, but your words and the way you speak on your courses touches me in a different way. I have never met you or looked into your eyes but to me, I feel a love and true, genuine humbleness coming from you. I feel that you really DO care about us and want to share what you learned the hard way in your life. I have not been homeless but there are other pains I won’t share here that I have endured and survived.

I understand your words, thoughts and I truly feel blessed to be able to tell you this in here.
You have a life-long learner here and I will forever read your books and buy them for others.
Thank you from my very core.

Hi Joe Mr Fire Vitale, Yes we all have choices. To think and act positively or negatively. To think that we are the masters of your destiny and create our life like a sculptor creates his masterpiece – with vision, enthusiasm and persistence. We have the choice to play the game of life to win, or just not to loose or worse just be a spectator and accept meekly what ever the life dishes out to us by default. You have shown the way in the ATTRACTOR FACTOR – the 5 steps to take us from where we are to where want to be. One needs to simply follow the steps to a life of abundance and joy. You are a true master and visionary. Your books and audios are blessed with the touch of God. Namaste!

    Hi Joe,

I read and study and write my lists and work daily on positive thinking and being open to receive what is coming my way. I have seen some results and find it all very exciting. What I do not know how to ‘deal with’ is the economic situation for our type of work. We live and work in SW Colorado in the San Juan Mountains and build homes here. FInding customers that can build a home right now is challenging – and the banks don’t help anything and while I believe there are people out there who would love to have a home here, they are ‘reluctant’ to step up or just come and see. This is a beautiful place and when people get here, they love it and would love to stay, but are scared (I think) to do anything and I would love to know how to work with and around and past that sort of mind set in the public view so that people will come again and be a part of what is here in Pagosa Country.

    Thank you, Jane

Just catching up. I’ll always make time for you 🙂 Thank you thank you.

I think it’s important to remember for the first principle that there is no good, there is no evil, there is no bad. It just is. When I find myself able to just “be,” I attract more of what I want into my life. (Oh sure, I feel the joy, no worries there, but “stumbling blocks” just “are”. I’ve stopped grinding my teeth and saying “turn it into something good.” I just accept it’s on the path and move through it, over it, around it, whatever it takes to keep on moving forward…I’ve just stopped judging it)

I read the “Promise to Yourself” every moment I can, I rewrite it every time I can. It has change my mind set.

I do not get frustrated with my customers when they call, I am a much calmer person, ( I work customer service until I can fully get my site up and running). I am a Prosper student (I’ve taken the first step in changing my life).

However, I get stumped, blocked in thought, I can not finish a blog, I sometimes can not concentrate. I am under such pressure to perform my responsibilities, but can not do anything.

You word of advise is very seriously needed.

I have read your free book “Attract Money Now” and every single email you have sent since I subscribed. You definitely motivate me, and I have seen money come in, but If I were able to concentrate the way I should I know my site would go up sooner than later.

Upon reading the snippet above I can’t help but recall some material found in “The Science of Getting Rich.” This is where is speaks about every form has both the truth and a corresponding illusion (or more.)

It seems it is so much easier to look at something in a negative light than a positive (just look at the news and television in general)

Indeed negativity and illusion go hand-in-hand and in order to think consecutively in terms of the truth, a person must be ready for one of the hardest things in human experience.

To do so successfully means health amidst disease and wealth amidst poverty. As the book states, this is so hard most people “shrink” from it.
