Ever since my book, Attract Money Now, came out a few years ago, people sometimes write and ask if I am a member of the Illuminati.

The first time it happened confused me.

“Why do you think I am a member of the Illuminati?” I asked.

“Because of your belt buckle,” was the reply.

My belt buckle? Seriously?

I’m flattered that people were looking at my waistline but it also confused me.

I looked at the cover of my book and sure enough, I’m wearing a belt buckle with a symbol of a pyramid and eye.

Note the belt buckle

Note the belt buckle

The thing is, the cool looking buckle was given to me about ten years ago by a fan who wanted to congratulate me on my weight loss.

There was and is no more meaning to it.

It’s a belt buckle.

I let it go and didn’t think much more about it until…

The other day I was checking email and watching reruns of Modern Family on television when I noticed yet another person asking — this time on this blog — if I was a member of the Illuminati.

That’s when I decided to tell the truth.

“I don’t even know what the Illuminati is,” I confessed.

Since I didn’t want to look completely uninformed, and since it appears that people were talking about me being a member on some discussion forums, I asked one of my assistants to explain the Illuminati to me.

Here’s what she said:

Illuminati is about mind control and aiming towards
the New World Order in order to achieve world domination.
The Illuminati wishes to enslave the whole world in a satanic
plot for a one world government.

Illuminati feels that it is their karmic duty to "Reveal and
Conceal" -- meaning they use overt symbols in your face
without revealing what the symbols are in order to hide
their agendas while subliminally programming people's minds.

The "all seeing eye" you have on cover of The Secret to Attracting
Money audio course and the pyramid on your Attract Money Now belt
buckle are part of the symbols they commonly use.

Here's example:

Katy Perry's music video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KSOMA3QBU0
and then here's the conspiracy theory behind the video's meaning:
http://www.prisonplanet.com/katy-perrys-dark-horse-one-big-children-friendly-tribute-to-the-illuminati.html

According to this type of paranoid thinking, virtually every celebrity or politician you name could be a member of the Illuminati.

One list includes —

  • Jay Z
  • Cypress Hill
  • Chris Brown
  • Celine Dion
  • Halley Berry
  • Eminem
  • Rick Ross
  • TB Joshua
  • Charlie Boy
  • Tonto Dikeh
  • Davido
  • Wizkid
  • P-Square Twins
  • Britney Spears
  • Aaliyah
  • Nicki Minaj
  • Beyonce Knowles
  • Alicia Keys
  • David Bowie
  • Madonna
  • Paris Hilton
  • Barack Obama
  • Aretha Franklin
  • Bob Marley
  • Angelina Jolie
  • Jim Carey
  • Bob Dylan
  • David Bowie
  • Justin Bieber
  • Kanye west
  • Marilyn Manson
  • Lady gaga
  • Lil Wayne
  • Rihanna
  • P-Diddy
  • Wiz Khalifa
  • T-pain
  • Rihanna
  • Kim Kardashian

Jim Carey?

Really?

Bob Dylan?

Seriously?

And me? Joe Vitale?

Really?

I have no interest in government (just ask my wife) and certainly not in world domination.

I can barely handle a house of cats.

Have any of these speculators actually read my books?

Rather than just looking at my belt buckle, they might actually open the book and discover what I really think.

People who believe in conspiracy theories and world domination scenarios are coming from victimhood.

They feel powerless in their life.

They want an explanation for their struggle.

Rather than take full responsibility, and move into the Empowerment stage of awakening (which is what I write about in such books as The Awakening Course and At Zero) they want to blame others.

Super stars are easy targets.

The wealthy are easy, too.

After all, they must have “something” that you and I don’t have in order to be so mega-successful.

They must all belong to some secret organization which helps all members succeed and leaves the rest of us to struggle.

Right?

Wrong.

If such an organization exists, I’ve certainly never been invited to join it.

Sometimes I think people who complain and conspire have too much time on their hands.

“People do not seem to realize that their opinion of the world is also a confession of their character.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Rather than spending time expressing their life mission and following their passion, they use their hours to create conspiracy theories and projected scenarios that have nothing to do with reality.

Like me and my belt buckle.

But let’s see if we can learn something here.

I did a little research of my own about the pyramid and eye on my belt buckle — the same symbol, by the way, that is on the US dollar bill.

Here’s what I learned:

That famous symbol on the US dollar bill is called The Eye of Providence. It’s sometimes interpreted as the eye of God watching over all of us.

God watching over us?

That doesn’t sound bad at all.

According to the most relied on unreliable source, Wikepedia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eye_of_Providence, the symbol is…

“The Eye of Providence is mistaken for the Illuminati symbol. The original Illuminati symbol is actually the Owl of Minerva”

Owl of Minerva?

No, I don’t know what that is, either.

And I’m not a member of some Owl of Minerva club.

But isn’t it curious that people looking at my belt buckle and assuming it’s a clue to me being in the Illuminati, don’t even know what the actual symbol of the Illuminati is?

I’m flattered that some people think I’m so rich and powerful that I might one day help run a world domineering government.

But when I look over the above list of alleged Illuminati members, I have to confess that I’ve never even met one of them, let alone worked in secret (or even in public) with any of them.

The truth is, I’m a regular guy who has worked hard and done well writing books for a living, was lucky enough to be invited to be in the hit movie “The Secret,” watches reruns of Modern Family on TV with his spouse, writes and records self-help healing music, smokes cigars to commune with the Divine, and is learning to play the saxophone.

Of course, some people think the saxophone is The Devil’s Horn.

They probably think the sax is a clue to something.

Well, I can’t please everyone.

And neither can you.

Please focus on expressing your life mission, no matter if people condemn, understand, complain or applaud.

It’s what you’re here to do.

Ao Akua,

joe

PS — I wrote a song on my new album explaining how life is a reflection of what is in you. The song is called “Reflection.” The album is called Reflection. (Seemed like a no brainer.) It’s relevant to this blog post, as what people project about others is usually what they actually feel about themselves. Think about it…

What do you hear?

People who believe in stuff like the so-called Illuminati are people who are rooted in negativity and fear. Even if there is something like that I prefer to liver my life positively productive.

Love your stuff and keep on doing good work.

Iluminati, sounds similar to “iluminated” ‘= “that have knowledge”, and you have “knowledge” that let you, and others, succed. Maybe you’re not part of the iluminati. But you are part of the iluminated, who share the light of certain knowledge with the world, like in your books.

Thanks Joe for iluminate (enlighten) mi mind!

    Wow!

These people are not only coming from a place of victimhood, but also from envy and laziness. They envy the rich and successful their accomplishments and lifestyles, whilst themselves being lazy. The laziness encompasses two aspects: a) they cannot be bothered to go out and do something about their own situation; b) they want someone or something out there (God, the Universe, the Illuminati, etc.) to wave a magic wand and give them everything they want without having to work for it.

It’s much easier to blame something else for your troubles and other people’s successes, than to admit that you’re going to have to something about it yourself. Remember: “God helps those who help themselves.”

How do I know all this? I was in such a place not so very long ago. I am getting out with the help of people like you, Joe, whilst promising that I’ll help others as I do so.

Keep up the good work, and let the nay-sayers wallow in their own madness. For madness it is, ignoring reality.

Well, I slightly disagree. I think it’s naive to believe that there are no conspiracies or secret societies when many have been proven to exist, some for hundreds of years. There’s nothing wrong with being informed. It’s what you do with that information that can be defining. You can be fearful, paranoid and a victim or just simply informed and aware. There are fanatics with everything, every subject, every situation. It’s like saying all Internet marketing is a scam, and we know that’s not true.
I happen to think there ARE some of these things in existence and I tell people responsibly about them sometimes. But it doesn’t define me. I don’t live in fear and I’m certainly not paranoid. I have a peaceful, content life, even in spite of a debilitating illness. I understand that love and giving is the key to EVERYTHING.
But, I think you need to address the fanatics as victims and not everyone across the board who believes in conspiracies and secret societies. If the Illuminati does exist, it is very evil and the only thing that will conquer it is universal and impersonal love, which is what we all should strive for to raise the vibration of the planet to an even more positive existence.

You are right, of course, in part. I reread my post and didn’t see where I said there weren’t any secret societies. There probably are. But it’s not my life calling to put any energy into them. If it is for you, then Godspeed to you and enjoy the show. πŸ™‚ And remember, what you focus on, expands. It’s basic Law of Attraction.

My bad. You did not mention secret societies. Articles I have read tend to lump the Illuminati and secret societies into similar categories and that’s why I mentioned secret societies. But, actually, that topic is the last thing I put energy into, unless reading is energy. I read a lot about a lot of different things. But I have not experienced any of the negativity associated with topics from reading about them.
No, it is not my calling either. I tend to focus on wanting to fix things that are broken, such as laws. Not all politics. But some. I like to inform people so they are aware. I like to visualize these broken things, fixed, as well as do whatever I can to contribute to a positive change. I have a great love for animals and do whatever I can to support rescue organizations. I’m not perfect, but I live in the moment and do what I can.

Karl, we all agree it’s what you put your energy into. Maybe you’re assuming I’m putting my energy into these subjects and you just misunderstand me. You’ve actually changed the point of my comment into what you think I believe and how it will manifest in my life.
The point I was trying to make in my comment was that not every person that believes in a conspiracy is a victim. I feel like the fanatics are the ones coming from victimhood. That’s all.
I believe a person is capable and strong enough to read an article, or book, without surrendering their energy to its contents. Not every book or article is hypnotic or worth retaining.
I would like to claim that I remember a little of everything I have read in my 58 years, but the truth is I have forgotten a lot, and continue to forget things that just aren’t that important. I just like to read. As time goes on I’m sure I’ll forget a lot of what I’ve read on the topics we’re referring to here.
I’m not an expert on the Illuminati, or secret societies. I’ve just read a few things on them. And I believe some conspiracies are for real. I don’t dwell on them. I don’t put any energy into it and it is not something I think about on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. But if the subject comes up, sometimes I have a comment or opinion.
I’m having a real hard time wrapping my head around the insinuation that EVERYTHING you read manifests itself from your unconscious. That has just not been my experience. I am not a newcomer to the awareness of the law of attraction and know very well how it works.
I just read a great fictional short story about a group of hybrid humans that could fly. Based on your comments, I can’t wait until my subconscious comes through on that.

The beginning of the movie The Secret talks about how “the secret” had been in the hands of the few and how they tried to keep it that way.

This world is not designed to keep the majority happy and enlightened. Slavery still exists. Its called economic slavery. With low pay and hard jobs and long hours, people have little energy left for anything worthwhile

Last year Walmart made a profit of $16 Billion…thats billion with a B.
And yet their employees are so poor due to their low wages.

    Thats economic slavery

Why cant walmart pay their employees a little bit more?

And the government should also fix prices of goods so that prices dont rise too quickly

    Unregulated capitalism has failed us

I do believe there are secret groups who have laid out the current system of the world. To keep the majority poor, struggling and in bad health.

But the masses have not realized that its their birthright to be so much more. They are being put down on purpose…they are being put down financially.

People are so much in debt and are just turned into consumers

I think this part is interesting,
“Rather than spending time expressing their life mission and following their passion, they use their hours to create conspiracy theories and projected scenarios that have nothing to do with reality.”

Many people are failing to recognize, Joe included, that there is a very real incarnate energy present on Earth today that is expressing their life mission by going after corrupt controllers. We are very passionate about this indeed. The controllers know we exist and are terrified. They spread disinformation anytime anyone asks questions about them. It is rather odd to me that it is unrealistic to Joe that there is something going on behind the scenes to control and keep the rest of us in the dark. Also why did Joe feel the need to write this article to defend himself from something he considers ridiculous? Doesn’t add up especially after saying that he doesn’t add energy to such things. We’ll I hate to tell you Joe but writing adds a lot more energy to things than reading does. That’s just basic law of attraction.

But you are openly saying you dont know anything about the illuminati? What is the reason for your blog? To claim ignorance? People become obsessed not because they are victims, but because the illuminati is completely fascinating. Its fascinating because its the complete opposite of my own drive and I did not know people were really capable of planning to kill people with drugs prostitution and peadophilia. Now I know differently and I see and i really have no reason to not believe as I see peole acting terribly on a daily basis and the older I get the more I see people acting terribly and so the idea of the illuminati, for me, becomes more interesting and relevant over time. You are really asleep to your part in all this. Your purchasing movies, or watching tv set the wheels of pedophila, in motion and you really have no clue. Maybe people want to know their part so they can change what they are doing. and so then have a chance to help in making a better world.
Do you know that 1/3 of revenue into governments of third world countries come from tobacco. Do you know that if you smoke you are perpetuating this. And why do they do it? So they keep them poor so they will consent to selling their organs and their children? The bigger picture is very fascinating, if you ask me, just as sociology is.
