The secret to making 2014 better than any previous year is easy: do something different.

Don’t do just anything different, of course.

Be smart about your conscious change.

Here are three steps to help you make 2014 awesome:

With singer Sarah Marie on my 60th birthday

With singer Sarah Marie on my 60th birthday

1. Declare a Specific New Intention.

Intentions engage your body-mind-spirit and also alert the Universe to your desire. State a new intention, or a revised old one; one that inspires and delights you, but one that is also doable in baby steps. In other words, “I intend to earn a million dollars in 2014” might be too big a jump. It might engage limiting beliefs. But a goal such as, “I intend to attract 5% more income each month” may be more believable and doable to you. The idea is for the intention to be within reach while still a stretch; something you can get to with daily steps. I also think your intention should be inspired, meaning it feels like a directive from the Divine and not an indulgence of your ego. Again, your past intentions/goals/resolutions may have been too big, or not connected to your core passion. Reassess and restate. Today’s the day.

Next album cover? (The flying dolphin has to mean something)

Don't ask. The flying dolphin has to mean something.

2. Take Daily Baby Step Actions.

The Law of Attraction requires action. Do daily steps toward the intention. Often people set such big goals that they don’t know where to start, so they get overwhelmed and don’t do anything. It’s far wiser to break down the intent into little things you can do every day. You may not be able to make 100 cold calls all at once, but you can make 2 or 3 a day. You may not be able to release excess weight in one week, but you can do something daily to move in that direction, such as walking, drinking more water, etc. You may not be able to write a book in a day or a week, but you can write a little every day, and in time you will see a book. The point is by doing something every day, you will move to your goal. This is a simple thing you can implement today. I mean, right now.

3. Get Support.

Get allies. You’ll have far greater success in 2014 if you surround yourself with people who believe in you, and cut ties with the critics and naysayers who don’t. Having your own Miracles Coach is the number one thing you can do to make the new year a true stand-out for you. The right coach can keep you accountable, motivated, inspired and informed. One of the reasons for my successes in so many areas, including most recently in music, is having a support team. I always have a coach to help me “get clear” of any limiting beliefs within myself. The more I clear out the internal blocks, the faster I tend to achieve and attract my goals. This is the secret to greatness: get a coach.

Obviously, there are lots of things we could talk about to help make 2014 a record breaker for you, but the above three steps are the keys to change.

Sooooo….

Celebrating my 60th

Celebrating my 60th as king

Let’s review —

1. Declare a specific new goal. What’s yours? Think believable but BIG.

2. Take daily actions. What will you do each day? Baby steps lead to adult results.

3. Get support. Who will be your allies and coach? Enroll in Miracles Coaching.

    Hi joe,

Just wanted to say thank you for the three steps. I was just talking to God about this verything. Its feels do great to be in alightment. Now i have one question for you! You always talk about dare somthing worth. Then on the first step you say do a small intention instead of a big one. Because you might have. Limiting beliefs. All thought all you had to do is do hooopno and some other techniques that you will be clear and have what ever you want by taking inspired action of course. I pray that I am making since.
How do I become a miracles coach. I intend to work Dr. Joe vital as one of his coaches in 2014

    Iove you!
    Im sorry!
    please forgive!
    thank you!

Hi Tony. I still say “Dare Something Worthy” but what you think is daring and what I think are daring are two different things. What I said in the first step is to set an intention that is a stretch for you. That stretch is your “daring.” Again, this is all about you. Set the goal that makes you tingle with fear as well as excitement. Happy New Year!

Hi Joe! Thank you for your inspiration and guidance. I began my spiritual journey by watching “The Secret”, then by finding and reading everything I could that you’d written. I was at my darkest point when I found your teachings, but within a few years, managed to pull myself out of very dire financial straights, and was able to attain certification as an LOA practitioner through your program (cert. #2144). I wanted to thank you for the reminder to set new intentions for this new year. As we become comfortable with life, it is easy to forget that there are always greater things we can accomplish. 🙂 Back in 2005, I was a racecar driver and was able to become the first female driver to win a race at the track where I competed. Then I was laid off from my job and could no longer afford to race. Things got very dark very fast, and by 2009 I was at my lowest point. I thought I’d never race again. That’s when I found The Secret. Last year, I was approached by a man who I’d spoken to only once before for maybe 5 minutes. This man hired me to race for him! It was a dream come true. I didn’t need money to race…all I needed was to have the desire, and get rid of limiting beliefs, which you helped me to accomplish. Now that you’ve reminded me to set a new intention for this year, I think it will be to set a stellar example to my fellow racers on living a “blessed” life. There is certainly a lot of ego in racing, and I intend to be a catalyst to help transmute some of that ego. Much love to you, Dr. Joe!

    Hi Joe,

I’ve not touched on the secret in over 4 years now, I used it a lot back when I was trying to get into University at 36yrs old. Which I succeeded in doing but then promptly quit because I couldn’t get my head around the competitiveness of getting a place for the 2nd year etc. I hate competing in a world where we shouldn’t have to!

I’d like to ask you for your opinion and possibly some advice on a life changing leap of faith I’m attempting in 2015. Basically what I’m doing is giving up my home, job, creature comforts etc and travelling to wherever I can afford to get a ticket and working for various charities, communities along the way (nomadic lifestyle). No lie , I’m not motivated by money any more, I’ve given up my high paying lecturing job, management positions etc, closed down my web design business and settled for a tiny room in a rundown building in a shabby part of London, where I help people on various techie projects for free or whatever they can afford.

I want to raise just enough to buy the equipment for the journey and then just enough to cover expenses along the way (this will be a lifelong journey, once I’m on my way, there’s no turning back). I’ll be mostly sleeping in a tent, which I’m accustomed to being ex-forces and an avid camper. How would you suggest I go about it from here? From flat broke, to making this happen?

Happy new year to everyone else reading this and to yourself Joe 🙂

    • January 1, 2014 at 1:52 pm

All the people I know who have done volunteer work said they needed money to do it. And I’ve always said that if you want to make a difference in the world, attract money and then be a steward for it and direct it where it will do the good you want. I say make peace with money, and realize it is a tool to do good.

Joe, I turned 60 in December also, and celebrated with a birthday concert doing four hours non stop performing, including a batch of my tunes that had never been played live. Set this as a daring goal 6 months ago and made it happen. 2013 was a fantastic year for me, taking leaps of faith and I am continuing into 2014. Your books, teachings and recordings have helped me immensely. Wishing you love and light.

    Hi Joe,
I was reading the three steps and a doubt arose:
In the first step is about a new intention, but if I have an intention it is not a limitation?

    • January 7, 2014 at 7:39 am

Reread the first step. I said to look for a Divine intention, not an ego based one. Divine ones won’t be limitations.

My name in Cecilia and I’m from Romania – so I hope you’ll understand why my english is not perfect.
In the past few days I read two of your books: The Key and Law of Attraction (as a matter a fact, I have just finished reading Law of Attraction 🙂 ) and I’m going to apply Intentional Meditation Foundation.
The reason why I’m writing on you blog is because of something I read in your book – I just felt I must do that, and it will be a miracle for me if you’ll read my message and you’ll decide to write a few words to cheer me. Maybe you have some tips that you would like to share with me, because I’m afraid I’ll give up before those 30 days will be passed.

    I hope you’ll answer me!

    Good afternoon, Joe!

I am 49 years old. I am from Russia. I work as a trader, and also as a lecturer and consultant of the exchange business. At the end of last year a severe depression got a hold on me. I suppose, there were serious external causes for it. And it surely had negative impact on my financial affairs, health and other aspects of life.

I tried to change those circumstances, but nothing helped much. It felt like unceasing darkness and hopelessness. I even started taking antidepressants. Then I saw the movie “The secret” and started reading your books.

Darkness disappeared in no time. Furthermore, in a few hours after mentioning the film and your book on one of the Internet forums I received an offer of cooperation, which I had been unsuccessfully waiting for more than a year.

Maybe it’s just a coincidence, but 25 years ago I chose a pseudonym – Vitali. As one of my friends (who happens to be a trader) noticed, it is consonant with your second name.

Reading your book “The attractor factor” and making a plan for 2014, one of the tasks I set myself was writing a book. Thereby I have a question for you – who is that 25-years old broker, who wrote a book about prosperity and is mentioned in “The attractor factor”?

Perhaps, I should know it too?

    With great respect and thankfulness,

    Vitali Vestnikov.

    Hello joe 🙂
Iam a 24 year old girl I’ve read the secret and saw the movie and I’ve read sooo many books about the law and how the human mind works and believe me there is nothing I cannot bring to me, I use my mind to intend what I want and it comes to me I’ve been doing this since I was a kid and after reading books and trying to find answers I finally know exactly what it is. Yes it is miraculous but most of all it’s the belief in ones self. Every time i want something there is some kind of access to it a small opportunity, the thing is what I really want and need has no access to it what so ever and I totally believe that the how is non of my business but at the same time I have to do some kind of action I cannot stand still especially that I cannot afford to waste more time, there is literally nothing I could do about it .I’m afraid i cannot say more here but I’m anticipating your reply.
Thank you very much I wish you all happiness :).

Hi Joe. I have just discovered that the best intentions or goals I have achieved in my life were succesfully achieved through the steps you described here. Specially the step 2: little, day by day, actions for 30, or more, days until my intention magically came true.
I have just discovered how to eliminate a blocking belief inside me that limited me of making actions to achieve one particular goal I have had for 8 or more years. Now I will go for it. But my question is: do you have a book where you give examples, of yourself or others achievers, of little ACTIONS they made to achieve their intentions.
I want examples for inspiration. I have examples of my own, but It would be great if there could be a network or database of examples of intentions and the actions which were made to achieve those intentions. Any thought about it?
