The Awakened Millionaire

Throughout history, only a few books shook people deep enough to trigger a new direction in humankind, creating new policies, new procedures, and sometimes even war.

Thomas Paine did it.

Rachel Carson did it.

Harriet Beecher Stowe did it.

According to the New York Public Library, here are 25 other books that did it:

Triggering a Movement

Triggering a Movement

As an author, I’ve always wanted to write a book that makes a difference; one that made a measurable transformation in the world itself.

Many say I’ve accomplished that with my bestselling books, The Attractor Factor and Zero Limits.

But I’ve wanted to do even more; I’ve wanted to do something on a scale so big, it would influence millions and actually elevate the planet.

Now, at long last, as humbly as I can, I can announce my magnum opus, the inspired new book of a long career –

“The Awakened Millionaire: A Manifesto for the Spiritual Wealth Movement.”

Available April 16th

Ambition Pills

Back in the late 1800s a company sold “Ambition Pills.”

Their ads claimed the pills could cure anything, including sagging motivation.

Today we might call such a pill a placebo, because it’s the belief in the pill that does anything, and not the pill.

These pills contained poison

These pills contained poison

The problem is, the pills being sold in the 1800s were made with strychnine – a poison.

Take enough of those pills, and you could die.

That’s a pill that does something.

I’d guess that the company didn’t last long and their “Ambition Pills” were taken off the market.

But you can find variations of them today.

People want a “magic pill” – whether a book, a formula, a tool, a technique, or a capsule, to help them overcome what they feel they can’t do on their own.

The thing is, virtually any tool you use is only as effective as your belief in it.

If you don’t believe in something, it generally won’t work for you.

If you don’t believe in the Law of Attraction, for example, your belief will filter all facts and only find any evidence to support your belief.

If you DO believe in the Law of Attraction, by the same token, your belief will cause you to seek and find all the evidence to support THAT belief.

I have a medical doctor friend who says, “All of medicine is just the placebo effect.”

If you look close, you can see what is really at work here:

Belief.

Anyone taking an “Ambition Pill” in the 1800s got results or not due more to their belief than to the pill (which was obviously deadly).

There are even companies today selling pills as stated placebos.

They make no claim at all for their pills.

Honest Placebo Pills

Honest Placebo Pills

They are simply selling inert pills — and openly telling you so — that you can take to support whatever intention you want.

Obviously, since the pill does nothing, and is made of virtually nothing, the only way it can help you is if you believe it can.

Belief.

There it is again.

Belief.

Knowing that belief is the operating element here ought to make you curious about how to change your limiting or negative beliefs.

You can change them on your own, of course, with hard work and ruthless honestly, but you’ll have much faster results, and an easier time of it, if you simply do one thing:

Get a trained coach.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again:

When I hired an expert coach, my life transformed.

That’s why I created Miracles Coaching® almost ten years ago.

It works.

And it can help you, too.

A Miracles Coach can help you see your own beliefs — which, because the beliefs are your “world” and control what you see, you can’t very easily find on your own.

A Miracles Coach can help you change, delete or erase a limiting belief, too, which you may not know how to do by yourself.

And a Miracles Coach can become your ally, friend, and accountability partner in your life adventure.

But I wouldn’t ask you to take just my word for the power of this coaching program.

To see what others are saying about working with a Miracles Coach, just go to http://www.MiraclesCoachingProof.com

Expect Miracles.

Joe

Blame Star Wars

“You can blame Star Wars for that.”

I was talking to Guitar Monk Mathew Dixon, explaining that I see far too many people focusing on mind power and not realizing they need body power, too.

When I post pictures on Facebook or on this blog of me bending nails, bolts, steel rods and horseshoes, people often assume I’m doing it with just my mind.

I bent this horseshoe with mind directing body

I bent this horseshoe with mind directing body

While the process starts and continues with my mind, I am using my will power and mind power to direct my body to an end result: bending steel.

But why do so many people assume you can accomplish things with mind power alone?

Why do so many “New Age” types want to sit and visualize but not get up and act?

Why do so many people deceive themselves with magical thinking?

“You can blame it on Star Wars,” Mathew said.

Well, I’ve never seen a Star Wars movie.

None of them.

Or read any of the books.

To bring myself current, I watched the first film from 1977.

I nodded off several times during it.

While lines like “May the Force be with you” stood out, they were inaccurate to me.

Since “The Force” is always with you, a more accurate line would be, “May you be with the Force.”

The latter quote would remind you to align yourself with The Force.

But George Lucas didn’t ask my opinion.

“The second movie is the culprit,” Mathew explained.

The second one was the 1980 The Empire Strikes Back.

Apparently that’s the movie where a lot of things are accomplished with “Jedi mind tricks” and thought alone.

And apparently a lot of people assumed they could do the same if their mind were only stronger.

Yoda taught Jedi mind control for 800 years?

Yoda taught Jedi mind control for 800 years?

Good luck with that.

I don’t want to blame the movies, though.

The theme of “mind over matter” appears everywhere, in metaphysical literature as well as popular culture.

You’ll find it in comic books as well as bestselling books.

You’ll find it in Richard Bach’s Illusions and The Messiah’s Handbook and on television shows such as Flash and Super Girl.

Who doesn’t want to have the ability to create out of thought alone, or make things appear with a few magic words?

Who doesn’t want to have super powers?

Who doesn’t want to be Superman?

Or Superwoman?

The thing is, life doesn’t work like that.

You were given a body and a mind, and the ability to use both.

We are not brains in jars.

We are brains in bodies.

When we use both, then we can attract miracles.

But the miracles “appear” through natural means.

Even Wallace Wattles said those exact words — natural means — in his famous 1915 book, The Science of Getting Rich.

He stated that it’s the combination of mind and action that leads to attracting results.

It’s not just mind.

It’s not just body.

It’s both.

Slides of Einstein's brain. Without the body, it's just a curiosity.

Slides of Einstein's brain. Without the body, it's just a curiosity.

If I pick up a horseshoe and “will” it to bend but not actually try to bend it, I’ll just be holding a horseshoe.

Nothing will happen.

I have to add my mind – mind power, will power, belief – and direct my body to actually bend the shoe.

It’s the same with anything you want.

If you want to attract a new car (or job, or spouse, or you-name-it), you want to begin with your visualization and affirmation. You won’t even try if you don’t kick start the process with your belief.

So, it begins with mind.

But if that’s all you do, you probably won’t attract anything.

You might even become skeptical or critical.

You’ll say “This mind stuff doesn’t work!”

Of course it doesn’t – if you are only using your mind.

But add your literal action, and you begin to co-create what you want into being.

It’s still not likely that what you want will just “appear” like in a Star Wars or Harry Potter movie.

I’m not ruling magic out. I believe in magic and miracles. I also believe that we live in a “no limit” universe, where we can probably do what some would say is impossible with the right mindset and proper action.

I’m just reminding you that you have a body for a reason.

Use it to aid in the attraction of your goal.

Use it for action.

There is real magic in the world: it’s using your mind and your body to achieve a specific end goal.

For example, if I want to write a book, I don’t sit and “think it” into reality.

Instead, I use every “mind trick” I know – from visualizing to Nevillizing to The Remembering Process and more – to get my mind around the idea of what I want.

And then I start writing.

I do something.

And it’s the combination of both mind and action that leads to me being an author.

None of this is a slam against Star Wars. I’m not blaming the movies at all. I’m told the latest installment, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, is spectacular.

Just remember that movies and television shows program you, usually unconsciously and subconsciously.

Focus on solutions you can act on

Focus on solutions you can act on

Recently I watched the movie The Martian and came away from it realizing the focus was always on solutions.

It taught an “Anything can be solved” attitude.

I liked it.

And I recently saw the movie The Walk, the true story of a young man with the “impossible” dream of walking a tightrope across the World Trade towers in New York City.

And he did it.

The movie conveyed the message that virtually “anything is possible.”

I liked it, too.

Star Wars is great entertainment and it’s great fun to imagine having no limits due to mind power alone.

Just don’t think you can pay the bills with a Jedi Mind Trick.

Ao Akua,

Joe

Butt Dialed Bad News

One day my cell phone rang.

It doesn’t ring very often because very few people have the number.

I didn’t recognize the calling number, and there was no Caller ID name listed, so I figured it was a random sales call and declined it.

But a minute later, the phone rang again.

Same number.

Again, I declined it.

But a few minutes later, I got notified of a message.

Curious, I played the voice mail.

I was shocked at what I heard.

It was a slightly muffled conversation between two people, a man and a woman, bad mouthing my music.

It was like being a fly on the wall, listening to a couple bash your first born.

Specifically, they were quite openly thrashing my first singer-songwriter album, Strut!, from 2012.

My first singer-songwriter album

My first singer-songwriter album 2012

“It’s trash!” the woman said.

“It’s really garbage!” the man said.

I was shocked.

Baffled.

Hurt.

I recognized the woman’s voice.

I thought she was a friend.

Their entire conversation lasted several minutes.

Since the woman had “butt dialed” me by accident, she didn’t have a clue that their exchange had been recorded.

But it was.

I’m not sure how you would feel if you overheard people you know trashing something you created out of love and passion, but I was confused.

I reached out to my music support team, my friends who helped create that first album, and told them what happened.

They were angry.

They wanted to call the woman and give her a piece of their mind.

I didn’t want to do that.

I wanted to process the Twilight Zone-ish experience and see what I could learn.

As I meditated on the bizarre event, I realized a few things –

  • not everyone likes my books (!)
  • not everyone likes me (?)
  • much of music today doesn’t appeal to me

Of course, I wouldn’t call someone and tell them my opinion of their books or music or them, but realizing that not everyone loves me or my work, while baffling, was somehow comforting.

And then I thought about all the good things regarding my first singer-songwriter album.

Musician makes cover

Musician makes cover

For example –

  • Strut! has original songs that were nominated for awards,
  • one song was turned into a music video with over 300,000 views,
  • the album was mentioned in Rolling Stone magazine,
  • the songs were recorded with the help of Grammy nominated people
  • and one Rock and Roll Hall of Fame musician,
  • and I was voted #1 singer-songwriter by Reverbnation for it.
Voted #1 singer-songwriter 3 years

Voted #1 singer-songwriter 3 years

So, obviously, my music must not be “trash.”

It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but what is?

And I admit that my later albums – such as One More Day (a bestseller that sold out almost instantly after it was released and includes Grammy nominated singer Ruthie Foster on one hypnotic track) – reveal a more polished singer-songwriter, but I doubt that the first album was that bad.

Latest Bestselling CD sold out

Latest Bestselling CD sold out

Not everyone loves Elvis, the Beatles, Lady Gaga, or Neil Diamond – and those people are legends – but not everyone likes any of the hundreds of thousands of new, alternative, jazz or any of a staggering amount of music coming out today, either.

So, what are you or I going to do?

Stop?

Give up?

Let the critics win?

Mark Twain wrote in his autobiography –

“I believe that the trade of critic, in literature, music, and the drama, is the most degraded of all trades, and that it has no real value–certainly no large value…However, let it go. It is the will of God that we must have critics, and missionaries, and congressmen, and humorists, and we must bear the burden.” – Mark Twain

I’m with Twain, but I didn’t get to the same conclusion overnight.

All of this was a day-long process.

It took me more than a few minutes to get clarity.

After I realized that what I was given was an opportunity to clear up some limiting beliefs I had about approval, I was free to turn the event into a teaching lesson for you and me both, hence this post.

As I wrote in my book, The Attractor Factor, I pulled a TIISG: Turn It Into Something Good.

As you pursue your dreams and goals, you will probably encounter a person or two that doesn’t approve.

You have to continue forward anyway.

There will always be critics.

Their job is easy: put you or your project down.

Your job is harder but more rewarding:

Allow them their opinion, and continue towards your vision.

After all, everyone with a butt has an opinion.

And if you’re really worried about being butt dialed a bad review, just turn off your phone.
